    There must have been an active service in the past, either via a purchase or a giveaway.

  • I would like to join, I currently hold a UK node and feel good.

    Thanked by (1)Micronode
  • I could do some testing

  • Managed to install NixOS, pretty standard OVZ experience so far.

    A few suggestions:
    1. Serial console in case you fuck something up™
    2. Considering bandwidth is metered, panel should indicate remaining (please double mine)

    Bandwidth isn't metered - I need to change this.

    Serial console is something we may add if these prove popular, its a fair amount of dev work which we might never see a ROI on.

  • I can do it too, bought one uk instance.

    Please check my account, the server I purchased earlier has disappeared in the background, but I am still able to connect via SSH.

    Thats now fixed, if you re-provision you'll end up with 100m. I won't force you as it was my mistake.

    Declarative configuration mainly, so I can version control my infra. Like Ansible-ing your infra, but better.

    For example, to configure fail2ban I just need to add this:

    services.fail2ban = {
      enable = true;
      ignoreIP = [
        # whitelisted ips
        X.X.X.X
        Y.Y.Y.Y
        ZZZZ:ZZZZ:ZZZZ:ZZZZ::
      ];
    }

    One great thing about this is all configuration is in one place so I only have to back up a handful of files (e.g. when doing backups and restores I don't have to remember that the config files should go to /etc/fail2ban).

    naah, I'm fine with my 256mb :wink:
    Maybe if you would have AlpineLinux available since it has a small memory&resource usage

    i have a script here

    https://gist.github.com/ehab2012/304e11cccd1683099d899e28ab6c4941

    first make sure you do before running script

    apt-get install curl wget xz-utils apt-utils

  • Yea, I used some script in my Webhorizon's natvps. I would like to see AlpineLinux template in every provider who offers NAT VPS packages since its perfect for those

    Ah, Creanova... Thanks!
    I had "VDS1-B" (small vps) with them in 2012. The thing which bothered me with Creanova 10 years ago was that IP wasn't geolocated to .FI but .RU or something like that and I wasn't able to use BNC connectivity to .fi ircnet servers while there wasn't any .ru ircnet server, so I cancelled.
    They have at least a decent looking website now :)

    It was Finland however IPs in RIPE database belonged to the RU LIR or something like that (they were subsidiary of russian company) hence services which required IP address from .FI ISPs didn't work.
    The other. I was away for like 5 years or so (I think) and when I came back it was just quickly/temporarily to find some replacements for few super stable but old and outdated 128/256MB VPSes (from securedragon, xenvzco.uk, weservit, prometeus...) and now I am stuck again :s :p
