Broadcom is buying VMware in a $61 billion mega-deal
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/broadcom-buys-vmware-125814712.html

With the impending (or already arrived) recession - are more mergers and acquisitions on the way?

Added later:
I was wondering.. how many VMWare licenses can one get for 65 Bn US Dollars?

Posting under 'general' category: while this can be called industry news, the possibility of more M & A can expand to non-industry

didnt know broadcom is this rich

    I bench YABS 24/7/365 unless it's a leap year.

I'm sure this will only bode well for VMware as a product and service provider. Assuming their plan was to fade into obscurity and become a gooey pile of legacy enterprise/mega-corporation bloatware.

Broadcom has signaled its $61 billion acquisition of VMware will involve a “rapid transition from perpetual licenses to subscriptions.”

Other than @georgedatacenter who I recall use VMWare, which other providers have VMWare? Have they received any communication?
