We really don't know if we can continue selling VPSes on at least a new dedicated server (other than the two that serve this offer) at this price, in the near future. We're building a new server (Delta.2), for the Delta server series - and DDR4 RAM and disk costs have more than doubled since the last time we've built Delta.1, which was last year.

Why don’t IPv6-only providers offer an IPv4 reverse proxy (e.g., via Nginx) for HTTP/HTTPS?

I’ve noticed that some providers now offer IPv6-only VPS plans, which is a good step forward. What I find curious, though, is that most of them only provide IPv4 port forwarding rather than an HTTP/HTTPS reverse proxy.

Port forwarding certainly works in some cases, but it can feel limited when the goal is to host websites. With just forwarding, managing multiple domains or virtual hosts gets awkward. By contrast, an IPv4 reverse proxy (for example, using Nginx or HAProxy at the provider’s edge) could accept connections on IPv4 and pass them over IPv6 to the VPS. That would make it much simpler for end users to run websites on IPv6-only servers without extra layers of infrastructure on their own.

So I’m curious:
1. Since IPv4 port forwarding is already offered, why isn’t reverse proxying for HTTP/HTTPS more common?
2. Are there technical challenges or scaling issues that make it impractical?
3. Or is it simply that demand hasn’t been strong enough for providers to implement it?

I’d be interested to hear if anyone knows the reasoning behind this, or if providers themselves have considered it, I’d really like to hear from you on this. Because from my point of view, for website hosting, IPv4 reverse proxying would make IPv6-only offerings far more appealing to everyone, since IPv6 is still not offered by many ISPs.

This is a long shot that will make many of you chuckle and keep on scrolling, but please bear with me - looking to get an ipv4 /24 block (RIPE) on the cheap.

Most folks are trying to get something clean with reputable history, but I don't mind having the filthiest, skankiest, blacklisted-everywhere /24 on the Internet - it's mostly for learning, experimenting and personal projects. I know you'll likely to suggest IPv6, but I do have a v6 block already but that's sadly not reachable from half of the net. I should have picked a less expensive hobby, but hey, it's still less expensive than doing drugs :-) Cheers!

Tried googling about this but all I got are definitions of what dynamic/static IPs are but economically, why though?

For residential connections, wouldn't it be cheaper to just allocate an address and be done with (until the user cancels their subscription or something) rather than dealing with the whole IP pools & recycling addresses shenanigans?

Hello,

I would like to share our experience regarding Secondary DNS for Plesk server. For the moment It has been pretty straight forward to setup Slave nameservers for Plesk.

The issue is, the solution becomes totally unreliable once you have 2 master servers or more. It looks like Plesk themselves couldn't figure out issues related to rndc-keys etc for our case. We have been getting random disconnections etc...

Additionally it requires the maintenance of the nameservers slave and having them on different locations or datacenters

We found solutions such as gDNS from Admin Ahead but it looks too complicated and not that different from the Plesk Slave servers.

We want to share our solution for the community especially the ones using Plesk, we are also planning to test the solution on different Hosting panels such as cPanel.

Once done, you will need to put edit a default provided PHP script that you can find on their Github Page.

Due to the multiple changes between the old script and the new one we have provided some additional information to the ClouDNS team who corrected some elements on their previous one.

Q: Do you allow gameservers?
Because most gameservers generally attract (D)DoS attacks, we currently do not allow them on our network.
This also applies to voiceservers such as Teamspeak and Mumble.
Q: Can I run a VPN?
Private VPN servers are perfectly fine with us. Public ones, however, are not.
Q: What’s your refund policy?
We do have a 30-day refund policy for your first service with us.
Q: What payment methods are accepted?
We accept payments via PayPal.
Q: Do you have a test IP/file?
Yes.
Q: Do you offer instant setup?
Servers on this offer are instantly provisioned, subject to stock availability.
Q: Why my order was marked as fraud?
The usual reason for an order, being marked as fraud is if you place it from a VPN/Server IP. We do not allow such kind of orders, so if you intend to order with a VPN, it will be marked as fraud. If you are on vacation/holiday and live in a different country, please contact us prior to ordering.
