I have a Hostbill Enterprise billing software lifetime license, which is 5 years old.

I have not used it for more than 3 years.

** Note: Hostbill provides 20 free support tickets with this license. In this 5/6 years, I have only used 2. So there are 18 free tickets still left to use.**

So now I think I should transfer it to another person or company who actually needs it.

The License has everything of Enterprise plan including IPAM

Note: By default, Hostbill doesn't allow license transfer randomly.

But I opened a ticket and asked Hostbill about the transfer.
Answer: Yes, they allow license transfer if the whole company or it's asset sale to another entity.

Important:
So in this case, I will treat it as an asset and will issue a sale agreement to the buyer so that he/she will never have any issue in the future.

The license has not been in use for more than 3 years, so I don't think it will cause any issues.

Some time ago, for data protection reasons (my company has to be GDPR compliant), an expensive management consultant suggested that I decentralise the billing system and manage it for each server location via the upmind platform. With hindsight, I don't know if this was a good idea. I created 50 brand accounts with upmind. These accounts all need to be managed individually. Some time ago I got a free Clientexec licence for a private VPS. I also have a WHMCS licence somewhere.

To cut a long story short: My question to you would be whether I should run the billing portal decentrally with upmind, which is of course much more time-consuming and cost-intensive, as I have to manage each one individually, or whether I should use a central billing portal for all server locations with e.g. Clientexec or WHMCS? Which is better?

I would appreciate your expertise.

Add the "Reverse DNS" menu to the server service detail page by adding the above code to the hooks.php file.
3. Activate the Module:

Log in to the WHMCS admin panel.
Go to Addons > Addon Modules.
Find the "Reverse DNS Management" module and click the Activate button.
Click Configure and enter the PowerDNS API URL and your API key:

4. Requirements:

Make sure that cURL and PHP JSON support are enabled on your server.
Make sure that access to the PowerDNS API is configured correctly.
Important Notes Getting IP Addresses: The code retrieves IP addresses using the dedicatedip field in the customer's products. If the IP addresses are stored in a different domain, you should edit the code accordingly.

Security and Validation: The module allows the customer to see and update only their own IP addresses. However, you can enhance the code if you want to add additional security checks.

Hostname Validation: A simple regex is used to check if the entered hostname is in a valid domain name format. You can add more extensive validations.

PTR Domain and Zone Calculation: in-addr.arpa is used for IPv4 addresses. If you want to add IPv6 support you must update the code.

Looking for cheap VPS or Shared Hosting with internal WHMCS license. Some providers do provide WHMCS licenses for free for their reseller plan, but they are often too expresive. I know HostUS provides OpenVZ/KVM VPS starting $1.98/$4.35 per month and $9 per month for an internal WHMCS license.

Volume discounts are not our favorite. However, we do appreciate a fixed discount rate because we would rather pay as we grow instead of paying for resources we may not need (resource pools).

Anyways ... we all need good billing and provisioning software and from what I can tell WHMCS is probably the best. But Blesta is darn good as well - just not quite up to speed with everything. So as a new provider I think that I could go with either solution. Except, thanks to @Francisco Blesta will be free to use!

I'd like to go with WHMCS, but I am worried ... worried that they (Oakley or their new owners) are going to pull another cPanel like price increase. And as a very small, new provider that would sink me. As it is the monthly fee is steep for a start up. (Yeah, I am a penny pincher!)

So, what is everyone's thoughts? Would you start new with Blesta, or is there a compelling argument for using WHMCS knowing that one day they will try to bankrupt you (not directly, but you know what I mean)?

Oh, and Billmanager from ISPSystem is not too bad ... but they do not support Direct Admin, so they are not an option.

I recently updated WHMCS v7 to the latest release version 8.0.4. And a very strange problem happened:

Whenever a coupon is applied, the problem occurs, the invoice has a negative value and the service is sent without receiving payment.

I've already opened a ticket on whmcs.com but I don't get answers for more than 2 days, has this problem with negative invoices ever happened to anyone? What would be the best alternative to do now?

For some reason the attack seems to circumvent the cloudflare captcha and JS challenge. Requests continue to arrive at the server and cause the site to overload completely.
