Webhorizon NAT - a little dissapointed, but it's still pretty good.

skorupionskorupion Services Provider

So I recently bought the NAT x5 Bundle. Got to choose the locations and got the following: WAW-EU NL-EU SGP-ASIA ZAF-AFRICA NY-US.
I'm a little disappointed with the disk performance, as in some locations it seems like they just have HDDs in RAID 10 instead of the advertised NvME, and in others SSD. In reality on none of those VPS, I have found something similar to NvME speeds at all. I have asked them in a ticket about the HDD speeds and got a response of :

I'm very much annoyed at the lies, as clearly there are no limits that are visible (hard IOPS, or MB/s limit). And the other speeds (like 1m block) are similar to the performance of the kind of disks 4k block size indicates.

Also on some VPS VM-x/AMD-V is enabled but on some disabled.

In the end, this is an a-okay deal, but false advertising is pretty obvious, from which I'm very disappointed.

Here is YABS:

    Squats are the new Push-ups

  • Have you asked for a fix on the slowest ones? @Abdullah fixed mine at PL, via a ticket though, and after he did something magic it was pretty ok.
And to be fair and honest, maybe Im wrong here but anyway, you are paying the equal amount of money as I would pay for 1½ Big Mac c/o here in Sweden for 5 VPSes even if they are low specced.
But maybe my reasoning is wrong there hehe, non the less should the slowest speeds be somewhat higher imho.

Things are so cheap in Sweden.
Colo a full-size Mac would cost significantly more that $15.50 per year in North America.

I've seen a video of my man crawling and swimming through mud just to test its viscosity when completely sober. I'm not sure any of us could handle @yoursunny when he's boozed up.

  • Just got one in SG.... Well, it was cheap but everything is really bad: disk and network!

  • I've cancelled my SG NAT this year.

Their DC1 for SG is better than DC2. Though only 100Mbps bandwidth.

Judging by the CPU (EPYC and not E3), no.. I'm guessing it might be Contabo instead

My NAT bundle has five locations:

I did ping (10 packets) and iperf3 (UDP) between these locations over IPv6:

Interesting ... five continents, latency up high, bandwidth down low.

like one should expect something different for 5 continents ?

I mean just tryin point that's bcz of the geographic distance. make a local speed test :)

China doesn't have legal drinking age.
Anyone who can afford beer can drink beer.
You just cannot drive after drinking, or you go to jail even if you are the most famous actor.

My father used to work for a beer factory, and he receives 120 bottles per year.
72 bottles are given to relatives.
For the remaining 48 bottles, we open 1 bottle on most Fridays.

    Each bottle has 330ml.
    I drink 100ml.
My face turns red and I fall asleep.

New Years Eve we open 2 bottles.
    I drink 200ml.
My face turns red faster, and I fall asleep faster.

I will not get drunk with the proper portioning.

I have several mud play videos.
The mud feels smooth on the skin.
    #KeepCalmAndGetDrenched

I don't play in the mud as much as before, because I moved to a different location and the mud doesn't smell good.
My only mud play this year might have resulted in an infected toe that remained painful for two weeks.

  • I got the 7x256 NAT bundle.
Only problem I had is that I was promised a VPS in Chile, but got one in Poland instead. Opened a ticket and within minutes the pl one was replaced with a cl one instead.
I must say the the support have been very quick and helpful so far. Polite and to the point answers, way better then what you could expect considering that I pay peanuts.

Performance is pretty much as expected. I have not tried any benchmarks, its a 256M vps for the price of basically nothing, if you run benchmarks on it you bought the wrong product.
The only thing I could possible think of complaining about is that the geolocation for the IPv6 address in Tokyo says that its in the US. It fucked up my geolocation scripts for a bit, but when I run the geoip queries against the IP4 instead it shows Tokyo as expected so it's not a big deal.

I have microLXC deployed in New Zealand, and I have my own node in Antarctica.
I'm gonna setup some message passing program, so that every message would travel a loop around the world.
    That's a true scenic route.
