Frequently Asked Questions

What payment methods do you support?
You can pay via Credit Card (Mastercard, VISA, American Express, UnionPay), AliPay, BanContact, EPS, giropay, iDeal, P24 and Paypal. (Some payment methods might be restricted to certain countries.)

How long until my virtual server is ready to use?
Provisioning of new virtual servers is fully automated and takes about 5 minutes. As soon as your payment is received, the setup process is launched automatically for the operating system you selected during checkout. (Provided that our system didn't flag you for manual review.)

What kinds of usages are accepted?
In short: keep it legit and do not abuse the provided resources. No email spam, no file sharing, no Tor nodes, no Torrent and nothing that will max out the shared resources 24/7 (= no crypto currency miners, please). For a more detailed list, see the “Accepted Usage Policy” section of our Terms of Service.

What operating systems are supported?
You can either pick from the latest AlmaLinux, CentOS, Debian, OpenSuse or Ubuntu releases pre-installed on your virtual server; or you can upload any ISO and install whatever operating system you would like to use instead.

What level of support is provided?
These are unmanaged virtual server offers, so you are expected to install and configure the server yourself. You get root access to the virtual server and a Linux distribution pre-installed, but you will have to setup any software according to your requirements.

Can I have a benchmark?
Yes, of course; this is LES after all. :)

  • no Tor nodes

Not even non-exit relay with capped bandwidth (like limited to 200mbit/s in torrc)?

There is no need to cap bandwidth, you are allowed to use the port in full. The 2,5 Gbps is the port size assigned to your virtual server only, the physical machines are equipped with large enough ports to handle a handful of users maxing out their ports at the same time.

But in regards to Tor, I'm afraid, the ToS exclude all kind of Tor nodes.

Non exit relays won't receive any abuse complaints or DMCA notice, they cause no trouble except pushing a lot of traffic. Very few don't allow non-exit relays.
I respect ToS/AUP though, just don't know why non-exit relays are also banned.

Because they use a lot of bandwidth and generally these machines aren't profitable if the user uses their entire bandwidth alotment every month.

There had been a few Storage Server 1Ts on alwyzon.com/cyber-weekend-sale but they were all gone quickly yesterday.

The Storage Servers are now out of stock in general, but new hardware is scheduled to arrive mid next week. Just too late for this years Cyber Weekend sale, sorry.
