I was actually setting the backups at the time I read the post there, great timing tbh. I have seen some drama on HostHatch earlier, now Hetzner. OGF is definitely becoming worse in some aspects

    not for me

    I bench YABS 24/7/365 unless it's a leap year.

  • There's an invoice for one of the VPS I'm using that I need to pay in less than two weeks. Obviously, I can pay it, but with the silence of this company, I have doubts about paying it and it could lead to a waste of money if the worst-case scenario happens. The VPS I have is so good that I can't find an alternative with a similar price range... Should I pay for it anyway or cancel the invoice and let the VPS "breath" for the last time?

    You probably saw me somewhere...

Pay by paypal (not add balance) if possible and you have 6 months of chargeback/protection ^.-

Assuming they honor it. Last time I got bit ( few years back ) they refused. Haven't trusted 'em since.

Personally, I'm taking it as my sign to move on. I'd just not pay the invoice and let it auto-terminate you. If some miracle has things back to normal before then, you can go pay the invoice then, and if not, at least you don't have to fight to get your money back. It's just a little too much radio silence for me to keep the faith that things will be okay this time, especially with things like the expired letsencrypt cert. I've got quite a few that are up for renewal around black friday, I'm going to pay for a $3 special for the lols, and let the other ~$275 go.

Been waiting for 1.5 months for a transfer ticket. Those were usually handled pretty fast.

If you let it terminated without paying, your credit score will get lower and either maxmind/ Fraudslab will be impacted.

After some deliberation on my part I just decided to cancel the invoice of that specific VPS and just move on. I just moved some services that was running on that server temporarily to my home, but now I need to find a server that has similar specs (3 "only-33%-core" CPU, ~4GB RAM, and hosted on LAX inside Quadranet according to the IP info, priced at $30/y [that was really cheap!]), which is a herculean task to find one. pls ping me if someone find similar to that one thanks

What i am wondering now after all this interuption is what can i do as next move ?
In their tos , they are saying they will never have down time and if they do the time will be added.
So far its been 3 days , i keep wondering what is going on ? Will i loose my data ? Are they out of the game now ? is the admin dead ?

Now what i am asking is can i open against them a case , should i just wait ?
They only have 2 servers available miami & dont what else state when you try to order again ...
might means they are just doing a major update and not saying anything to the customers

I know every one will say virmached and stuff , but now what can i do in a legal way ?

Wait. Move on. Scream. Cry. Drink away the pain. Sue. Lots of options.

Impossible to know. Make up whatever story makes you happy. It's as likely as any other at this point.

Will i loose my data ?

    Maybe. Isn't this exciting?

Are they out of the game now ?

    Not yet.

    is the admin dead ?

Stuff gets fixed eventually so we guess not.

People have reported that their VPS goes offline then after a while it comes back. "Someone" is doing "something" to cause that. Could be a network issue that the DC handles, but who knows, and at least that suggests the DC has been getting paid.

I had a machine that the disk disappeared. Reboots wouldn't boot, etc... Couple weeks later I pulled the console up, hit reboot, and BAM same OS/data was back. Automated rebuild? Maybe. I choose to believe there's a Marauding Virmach roaming region to region repairing recalcitrant Ryzens.
