Hi

I need a vps with 1 core, 1Gb ram, 20GB storage, 1 ip, 1TB bandwidth + Directadmin license for $15 - $20 annually

Thanks, I already have one with them, I want to have a second dns server in another provider

There aren't many provider besides buyvm and intodns, who offers Free DA license. DA Internal license alone has a higher cost.

For DirectAdmin a minimum 1 GB of memory is required, according to this https://www.directadmin.com/install.php

512mb works fine. Might need a bit more temporary swap during compiling but it's fine, especially for just DNS.

Can confirm DNS is fine on 512MB.

@AnthonySmith in UK or @Francisco for other locations. I use them and highly recommend them.

As for 512MB for DA. As Fran said it’s fine. Just add a 1GB swap and all will compile fine.

I have to say that I appreciate this form of response. There was no vehement response, no immediate dismissal - just a "not what I want".

Personally, I'd suggest setting up only the primary with an admin interface, and then syncing across to the secondary nameservers - less maintenance as long as you keep things firewalled tight. Extra management overhead if you don't have system setup to be secure is going to take more work.
