MaxKVM is down

edited March 29 in Outages

MaxKVM's website is down, and people can't reach their VPSs.

According to their status page, all services are listed as under maintenance. Servers in Amsterdam, LA, and Singapore have been offline for the past 21 hours.

It looks like their upstream (Datacamp) has pulled the plug.

@MaxKVM hasn't been active here or in the other green forum for a long time.

They might be reachable via tech(a)semiband.com. Their primary mail server is up (hosted on Hetzner Cloud), but their secondary is hosted on their unreachable subnet.

If I'm not mistaken, this isn't the first time this has happened, right? Pretty sure I remember them getting booted from their DC and migrating elsewhere sometime last year.

Edit: ohh yeah... they were the ones that were kicked out of Hivelocity and encouraged their customers to spam Hive's support channels. So..... Part 2: Electric Boogaloo? https://lowendspirit.com/discussion/4101/maxkvm-deadpool/p1

Yeah, its 99% not like the last time, Datapacket/Datacamp has no issues with "freedom of speech" or anything for that matter, a bunch of bulletproof hosts use them just fine for malware etc.
So if they kicked him out, its most certainly unpaid bills.

Also his billing panel is still online, and it was even when all of this shitshow started.

I just checked, some subnets are announced again, seems like he is recovering. He is still with Datapacket/Datacamp, so they didn't kick him out.

  • 2/7 back online.

His billing panel was offline when I checked yesterday.
Some servers seems to be online now, but it's worrying that he keep his customers in the dark.

yeah they had problems and came back out of nothing :))

  • DataPacket (MaxKVMs upstream) has informed that MaxKVM was renting servers from them and they haven't been renewed and made available to other customers. Data can therefore not be recovered.

It's safe to call this a deadpool.

Very unlikely they've got anything online that's within their network/infrastructure.
