Due to the change in RIPE policy, ASN has started to be charged 50 euros, which has caused a greater burden on non-profit holders. Therefore, I would like to start a thread to help everyone find a good LIR and a lower-cost solution. If there is an LIR willing to provide this service, please provide your quotation plan so that everyone can choose.

Factually you will not find a lower cost solution from a RIPE LIR.(unless you find someone willing to take a loss on proving you with resource sponsoring.)

If you want a good LIR, that will be there in the long run, values stability and predictability (I was one of the first to update their pricing for 2025...), then check out the LIR offerings on MyRootPW.

I don't agree with this view, because I paid 100 Swiss francs at the beginning. If you meet someone who has no credit, all the money you spend will be wasted. People who pursue profit are usually unreliable. So I would rather choose low-cost.

(It also assumes there is no work involved. Because this (50) is what ripe charges lir's per AS-Number starting next year. Assuming the LIR operated as a non-profit, you'd still have the work-time component (initial registration and then recurring checking/verifiction. Plus probably some user support), Payment processing fees and so on.

How could "ASN only" work?
The initial paperwork has to define what IP would be announced from the newly requested ASN.

Plus probably some user support), Payment processing fees and so on.

I don't need to register initially, just transfer. RIPE will send me emails directly for follow-up. So there is nothing to maintain in LIR. At least the work cost is negligible. Of course, if there are direct costs, I will certainly bear them. For example, if there are payment gateway fees.

The new ripe fee does apply both to existing and new registrations. It was introduced/voted for at the last general meeting. The work involved for a transfer is 90% identical to a new registration. In addition any policy complaint LIR will actually have a bit of regular monitoring to ensure that the resources they are sponsoring are actually used in compliance with the policy, that the registration accuracy is still there,.... Weather this is done manually (using up work-time), or thru automated tooling (that initially took work-time) doesn't make that big of a difference in that regard, as its still a cost to speak.

In any event. As i said before you are entitled to your own opinion.

I think they can use a temporary prefix for that assigning to your ORG during the registering process and then pull it out.
And usually RIPE side doesn't care much about this information (initial prefix), they care more about the legality of your identity.

By the way,
do you find your new LIR or decide to be sitck with your original one? What's the price of that?
