This giveaway is on hold, as the transfer option is no longer available in the billing panel. @virmach are transfers no longer allowed ?
Or can I raise a ticket to give this VPS to @localhost

A lot of functions that were in any way buggy have been removed and they're being reworked. For the time being, if a function we used to have is no longer there, you'd revert to requesting it how we used to do it back in the dark ages, which is a manual request/ticket.
We might either process it or tell you to wait for the function to return. It doesn't mean it's disallowed.
Some functions that are currently in this state:
IP changes
Migrations
Term changes
Service transfers
Bandwidth overage purchases (maybe)
If it's not a complex transfer, and your account doesn't have any issues on it, then I'd process it manually for the usual $3 semi-automated fee instead of the $10 manual fee. It might take a little longer though, probably up to a week.
Price Locks - We haven't raised prices and don't plan on it, but it's definitely reaching a point where the concern is there specifically for these specials, if we're going to give the absolute best prices. If you absolutely want a guarantee that the price will be locked for a period of five years, there will be a $10 one time fee. I'd only recommend getting this if you get an insane deal you're keeping indefinitely that looks like it's below IPv4 and colocation costs.
How will this price lock work for those of us with existing special BF deals? Doesn't apply--old specials are lifetime and never going away? Does apply--old specials will need to do the $10 price lock to avoid losing them in the future? Doesn't apply--$10 price lock is only for the upcoming specials, and old specials are on thin ice, subject to price increases?
We're going to launch the beta test soon. We'll likely ease into it and if it gets out of control we'll figure it out as we go. If the beta test goes well, the beta sale will continue running into the official black friday sale. Otherwise it may end early, or anything in between such as it being paused and restarted.
The sweet spot for participating unless you really want to help find issues would probably be a couple days after launch. That's also when we'll finish cleaning up most nodes to where generations will occur more smoothly. There's a lot of fine-tuning that's still left over but we're going to just launch it so we have some time to actually do the public beta test. I definitely would not recommend anyone participating unless they're used to the VirMach masochist experience.

Old plans don't have a guarantee, but there's also no current intention on raising prices. Newer plans don't have a guarantee, but there's also no current intention on raising prices. However, if it happens for whatever reason, having the price lock would officially exclude you from such a change. I do not know what things will look like 5 years from now though, so this is just a different way of communicating the same policy and providing an option to guarantee it.
If there's significant inflation, significant power cost increases, significant IPv4 cost increases, and/or we end up in a scenario where all our customers are just $8 a year special offers, and we really need to increase prices because there's no other way, then it obviously would have to be considered. There's no current indication this will ever happen, but in my head, the percentage chance of it occurring has gone up higher than virtually zero, to where I feel obligated to mention it and begin having some sort of official policy in place in the form of the price lock optional addon for anyone who absolutely wants that peace of mind. I believe I first began thinking of the possibility more for the first time a little while after COVID times and I've spoken about it here and there. This is just the next step: making customers very aware of the possibility by having an option there that reminds them of the possibility, with an option to remove that possibility.

How about we don't do one then?

Why?
Is this still a green forum, if there's no Black Friday megathread?
In that case, this forum may as well be renamed to the VirmAche forum.

Are they still a thing? I actually still have a couple of servers with them. Running kinda smooth... I mean, at $3/year 95% uptime is kinda ok.
Virmach has 10 years in business and still going.
You guys got 4x resources then me with the same price ,makes me feel I should let go all my deals.
The only deals I care currently is the tokyo storage plan. A 500GB asia storage is rare in the market.
