The Future of NATVPS UK and Micronode
TL;DR
NatVPS and Micronode will stop providing the Micronode resource pooling platform and VPS’ from January 1st 2026. (Yes I know it’s over a year away).
As our services are offered annually I am giving as much notice as possible before renewals.
This is not a topic that I wanted to write but as always I want to be as transparent as possible especially as Black Friday renewals are coming up shortly.
Natvps and Micronode are projects that I started back in 2021 to keep myself busy during the 2nd half of the pandemic lockdowns. I never imagined that 3 years later we’d have gathered so many great clients, moved away from the mainstream VPS hosting platforms (WHMCS, solusvm etc) to a completely custom billing, support and management panel with servers in 9 locations worldwide.
Whilst the project has not been a great success financially we have managed to provide a fairly solid service for very little money giving almost anybody the opportunity to have servers in multiple locations and the ability to setup high availability.
The project has and continues to take up a huge amount of my time both in terms of support and maintenance and at this point in my life I need to spend more time with Family and actually have some downtime rather than working around the clock.
I’m not deadpooling the project or going out with a bunch of drama, Im simply stopping renewals from January 1st 2025 and the service will be retired on January 1st 2026.
This is not financially motivated and the servers are all on 12 month contracts - this isn’t an exit scam or a way to get a final chunk of money from renewals.
Black Friday Renewals:
Our Black Friday renewal reductions will still take place - credits will start from £6 and will as always be valid for 12 months although this time they cannot be extended past the 12 month mark.
The Black Friday reductions will be in place from the 24th until the 30th December.
An email will follow for current customers and we will make every effort to assist in enabling you to migrate.
If any existing providers want to continue to project after January 1st 2026 I’m open to a conversation.

We have decided not to purchase another Micronode credit, even if it's £6 dealz on Black Friday.
microLXC now allows creating multiple containers with a cap on total RAM, so that Micronode has become redundant for us.
Moreover, the /128 address space and outdated OpenVZ technology crippled the usefulness of our Micronode account.
With the discontinuation of Micronode platform, we'd like to see its source code released under BSD license.
HostBrr aff best VPS; VirmAche aff worst VPS.
Unable to push-up due to shoulder injury 😣
Great service in 2022, sad to hear the discontinuation. Farewell.
MicroLXC is lovable. Uptime of C1V
Sad to see you go, thanks for the time it lasted. I had fun with the somewhat experimental way of idling my money, before actually spinning up a container and have fun with that in its own right.
It is a pity to see that low cost just does not pay enough to keep it viable to offer ultra low spec points of presence world wide.
@world in general: which replacement would you suggest?
Sad to see it go, one of the remaining NAT providers.

So he states it will run until Jan of 26 and you bail?

how about the refunds ? I think I renewed 2 weeks ago for another year, will you automatically refund or do we have to open a dispute via PayPal ?
It will continue to work as normal, it's being retired 2026 so the full year will be usable. I don't see how a PayPal dispute would ever be an answer unless they deadpooled with no contact...
easy big boy
James is cool
im also cool, but since he didn't mention it, I would like to know, in the last years on LeS and LeT saw other cool guys....
Your service is valid for the lifetime of the resources you paid for. We are simply stopping renewals from next year and you will not be able to renew next round.
You will receive the service that you have paid for.
Edit: to make this really clear - we are not stopping service until 2026 over one year from now.
I am sure your intentions are pure. But it would be great to have new posts (linking to this) re iterating every couple months.
People tend to forget things and it's a good reminder.
Plus even now folks tend not to read and comprehend that your services are retiring in 2026 instead of 2025 in a couple months.
Good luck 👍
Thanks for your service! I've also had some services with you, and was having lots of fun tinkering around. Small NAT services are so much fun, really
If that's possible, can I request/submit a personal data removal ticket, as I don't have an active service anymore?
Good luck with life and your family. Hope you'll be sticking around and props for the ample notice

There will be a message in the console and renewals will not be possible so there’s no risk of people paying for a service that will be discontinued.
Happy to remind here every few months too.
Sure, just DM me the email you used to signup here and if your account is still there I’ll remove it. We remove stale accounts every 12 months so it may have already been removed.
Just to let everyone know and give a heads up, Micronode is not going anywhere. You can renew and keep your services.
Don't jump ship
