Important Notice: Micronode Service Termination & Transition Plan

I’ve re-written this post about 5 times and quite simply there isn’t a better way to put this.

I’m going to close Micronode at the start of April. I’ve done everything possible to keep it going until the start of 2026 as originally promised but contract commitments are due at the start of April with a value of £1200 and to put it simply we have £250 of active credits left on Micronode as most clients have already moved to yetinode.

I would have absolutely taken the hit on this but seeing the success that @AuroraZero is having on Yetinode I feel comfortable knowing that the platform will continue and that there is another provider available to provide the same (if not better) service.

Everyone will get a pro-rata refund of the amount owed by April 10th 2025. To be clear this is out of my pocket and I want to make this right. I know it doesn’t make up for the disruption but it’s all I can do.

I wanted to get this out here before the email is sent mainly just to thank everyone for the support over the last 4 and a half years. I’ve done my best to provide the best possible NAT service and hopefully our clients have enjoyed using the service.

Thank you so much to everyone that purchased our NAT VPS’, instance credits and other services over the years.

Now for the formal email that will follow to the remaining few clients:

Dear Valued Customer,

We wish to inform you that Micronode will be ceasing operations earlier than originally planned. Rather than shutting down at the end of 2025, all Micronode services will now be discontinued on April 1st, 2025.

Following the recent announcement of another provider, Yetinode, who has agreed to continue the Micronode brand under their services—and after witnessing their recent success in offering our hosting solutions—we believe it is an opportune time to transition our operations.

However, due to jurisdictional differences between Yetinode, based in the United States, and our operations in the United Kingdom, we are unable to automatically transfer customer data while remaining compliant with data sovereignty regulations. Instead, you will need to manually migrate your instances to Yetinode or another hosting provider of your choice.

Transitioning to Yetinode

If you wish to continue using a similar hosting environment, you may sign up for services at arctic.yetinode.com. Yetinode offers hosting in the following locations:
• Seattle, Washington, USA
• Kansas City, Missouri, USA
• Tokyo, Japan
• Frankfurt am Main, Germany
• Portsmouth, United Kingdom
• Oradea, Romania

Pricing starts from $10 per year.

Important: This announcement is not a recommendation or endorsement of Yetinode. We are not affiliated with Yetinode beyond a vendor agreement for the initial handover of software services. However, because they utilize the same hosting panel as Micronode, the transition may be more seamless for those opting to migrate to their services.

Required Actions Before April 1st, 2025

To avoid any service disruptions, please ensure that you have migrated all your services to another provider before April 1st, 2025. After this date, all Micronode services will be permanently shut down, and any remaining data will be unrecoverable.

Refunds

Between April 1st and April 10th, 2025, all customers with remaining service credits will receive a pro-rata refund.

Service Locking

Effective immediately, new instances can no longer be created on the Micronode platform. This measure is in place to ensure a smooth transition for all existing customers.

We understand that this transition may cause some inconvenience, and we sincerely appreciate your support over the years. Should you have any questions or require further assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Best Regards,
The Micronode Team

Good comms, probably (hopefully) cheaper to refund than renew.

  • I thought micronode was part of yeti node.

Changing over ownership with an overlap period. That proof was supposed to be until 2026 but it's shortened now.

@imok said: I thought micronode was part of yeti node.

My understanding is micronode is not part of yeti node.
    Nor did yetinode buy micronode.
Nor was any customer info from micronode divulged to yetinode.
yetinode is using the panel that mirconode developed in house.
So you get the same great options but with the addition of a yeti protecting your data.

This is completely accurate. Thanks for clarifying

Yes the panel goes to me, the clients and data do not. UK has different rules from the US ones. Easiest and most uncomplicated way to do this transition.

I was under the same impression as @imok , but yeah, could have realised based on the above.

Now I'm not sure whether I stacked up on Microcredits or Yeticredits end of last year, expecting them to be interchangeable.

    Will see/find out.

    Thanks for the service!

Thanks a lot @Micronode for your services, it's been a real pleasure to be your customer. It's crazy that I can't even honestly find a single outage of your services. It's been flawless. And one of my first hosts from here.

I've sent you a PM, if you can check it :)

Thanks again for always being transparent to the community about everything <3

My first server in Germany is yours.

    Same with Canada.

I have not had any big purchases as of today. MicroNode will handle things from his side.
