Hello :)

TLDR;
50% off everything for the first 12 months including shared hosting, VPS & storage servers.
Just use code LES_12M_INTRO at checkout.

I’m Michael, one of a handful from a tiny (but epic) team of developers, engineers and Linux addicts. For well over 15 years we’ve been building bespoke web apps at our much-loved web-dev agency. From the very first day we chose to keep our hosting in-house instead of handing our clients off to some unknown third party. What began as a single server running all by itself (isn't this how we all started?) this has since evolved into a fully owned, enterprise-grade fleet of 14th gen Dell hardware deployed locally in a UK data centre, running shared, VPS and dedicated services for everyone from solo founders and growing startups to local councils, police forces, charities and even Fortune 500 organisations.

Simply put - before we knew it the hosting side of the business had grown considerably and had become an integral part of what we do day to day. It's about time we did something about this so we’ve decided to spin our hosting out into its own thing: Vive Hosting. Forgive the cliché tagline but this means the same small-team, hands-on support and rock-solid enterprise grade hardware I'm sure you're all familiar with, open to the public for the first time.

That aside, let's get to it. We offer shared, VPS and dedicated hosting, but that's not what this introductory post is about. We figured we'd introduce ourselves by first mentioning our KVM storage servers.

To summarise, these are KVM virtual servers with a 25G SSD for the OS, coupled with a high performance storage array available in several sizes. These are of course intended for backup and data storage targets however as long as you're staying within our TOS, you can use them for just about whatever you like.

Here's what we're offering...

50% off everything for the first 12 months.
Use code LES_12M_INTRO at checkout.

Whilst this post is about our storage servers it'll also work across our shared hosting and VPS plans too. If you're looking for dedicated please reach out and we'll see what we can do.

Shared: From £2.50 per month [view more]
VPS: From £2.50 per month [view more]
Storage Servers: From £2.50 per month [view more]

As for pricing on our KVM storage servers, it's £2.50 per TB (after discount)
Here's what's included.

  • 25 GB OS disk (Ubuntu 24.04 LTS by default; pick another if you like)
  • 2GB Memory
  • 2 vCPU for 2TB+ plans
  • 250 Mbps bandwidth (we allocate more but may throttle down to this during busy times)
  • ZFS backed HDD Storage (12G SAS enterprise drives)

Storage capacities are available in the following sizes and prices.

  • 1TB: £5/pm £2.50/pm [order]
  • 2TB: £10/pm £5/pm [order]
  • 5TB: £25/pm £12.50/pm [order]
  • 10TB: £50/pm £25/pm [order]
  • 25TB: £125/pm £62.50/pm [order]

NOTE: This offer originally included Unlimited Data Transfer. With effect from 3rd June 2025 this is no longer available and data transfer limits apply.

If you have any questions please reach out, ideally via a support ticket but I'll do my best to answer any questions here too. This is a new brand for us and it's early days however we've been in this game for a very long time. If there's anything we can do please just reach out and let me know.

Finally: if you'd be happy with providing us with some genuine constructive feedback, we're looking to give away a handful of 5TB KVM plans, free for 3 months (£1 setup fee, sorry). Open a support ticket and providing we've got availability we'll get you setup.

Please note: to keep an eye on capacity and performance we're manually approving our storage and VPS plans for now. In a couple of months we'll likely automate this to coincide with our upcoming capacity rollouts (an additional ~1PB of storage + more compute nodes on its way).

Thanks
Michael

We've got a test IP and file download - https://ping.vivehosting.com/
Unfortunately we do not have a looking glass right now.

Right now we do not provide BGP sessions and whilst we do have capacity for /64 blocks, this isn't something that we currently offer. I understand these are both desirable requests but they're just not on our radar for the time being. We may revisit this once things are a bit more established. We're currently in the process of obtaining additional IPV4 allocations as part of this split. Whilst we don't offer /64 blocks right now, we can certainly provide IPV6 connectivity.

I've sent you a bunch of promo codes for some more savings on 1TB, 2TB & 5TB KVM servers.

  • Please, disable "Choose domain" form when buying any VPSes, it's very annoying. Example: https://console.vivehosting.com/index.php?rp=/store/uk-nat-vps/nat-2g

  • On this page https://vivehosting.com/cheap-uk-web-hosting/ it says traffic is 5GB but other places say bandwidth is unlimited.

It would be nice to see the hardware specs and LVE limits for the shared hosting plans. You plans are quite more expensive than other more reputable providers here. Also the amount of email accounts are too limited

Best and friendliest hosts Host-C , Hostbrr aff.

Yes, agreed. Honestly, I hate WHMCS. I've spent the last 20 years building web software and it turns out WHMCS is the best the hosting world has to offer? It's insane.

I'll get that switched off for sure! Thanks!

Well spotted, thanks for the heads up. Will run through and get that bandwidth discrepancy straightened out.

As for LVE limits on the shared plans, we'll put something together to make this much clearer to the user.

As for price on our shared plans, honestly this isn't something that were really trying to be super low on. I'm sure we'll do some crazy promos and discounts but we're really not trying to compete in the shared market all that much. Coming from a web dev background where we manage the web hosting for around 95% of our clients, the aim is to be more than just somewhere you dump your WP site and walk away.

Broken theme or plugin? Send us a ticket! Having trouble getting that script to run? Send us a ticket. Need a hand migrating that old CMS to run because your previous developer didn't really know what they were doing? Yep, send us a ticket.

I'm aware it's not particularly well communicated on the site right now but our shared hosting is positioned to be a little more than just shared hosting. It's a difficult message to get across to a bunch of strangers comparing web hosting looking for the cheapest plan they can find - we're not about that at all.

  • I purchased the 1TB version, how long do we expect it to take for delivery.

  • ViveHostingViveHosting Hosting Provider

I can see it's been quite a busy night with lots of signups on this..we're in the UK so we're just about to start for the day. We've got quite a few orders to process but these will all be available shortly.

Someone posted it on a certain forum, and many people noticed it, which may also be the reason for the high number of orders today.

I see. I have seen the change. Do we default to a speed limit of 200mbp? I saw that we said that the peak time is 200mbps. How is this limited? Is it based on traffic or time? I want to have a plan.

  • ViveHostingViveHosting Hosting Provider

It's capped at the network level, so you simply won't be able to go higher than this.

Once things have settled a bit more and we're confident on overall performance there are plans to bump these numbers up a bit.
We've invested significantly into our hardware and connectivity over the last 6 months so we're just getting started.

Not quite. That's where the business is registered and we used to have physical office space there.
We've since moved around a bit - the world works from home these days and it's pretty much the same for most of our team.

  • ViveHostingViveHosting Hosting Provider

Just a quick shout out that the unlimited bandwidth offer on this will soon be going away - likely within the next 24 hours.
We've exceeded the original number that we'd planned to provide as they've been snapped up far quicker than I was expecting.

We're likely looking at switching it over to have bandwidth equal to 2.5 the storage i.e. 5TB = 12.5TB bandwidth - which seems very reasonable. The moment this change happens I'll edit the original post to avoid confusion and to remain transparent on what we're offering.

However - we're planning some awesome deals which will focus more on compute and memory.
I'm considering an LES exclusive for a high core count VPS with a good chunk of memory to go with it :o

If anyone would like to suggest some specs they'd like to see please let me know and I'll see what we can do.

Thanks for posting the benchmarks :)

In other news - we'll soon be offering 1Gbps ports on our VMs

It's unlikely this will happen on our storage VMs, at least not right away. But this is something that we're hoping to roll out onto our regular VMs as soon as possible.
