LAX1Z020 is down~ ticket #989759 (but it seems tickets are useless anyway).

The AI's reply is giving me my own IP:
The virtual server associated with the IP address $MY_IP_HERE_NOT_THE_SERVER is currently down. I suggest we first check for any known outages or maintenance on the server node [redacted by request]. If none are present, we can attempt a server reboot as a potential solution. If the issue persists after the reboot, it may require human intervention to further investigate any underlying problems. Please confirm if we should proceed with the reboot.

The server isn't even listed there: https://status.virm.ac/

Do I as did: full power off, and then power on.

    Can't even do that~

16 hours of downtime, and I don't even know if someone is looking after this... I don't know my patience level exactly.

This... you are with the wrong provider if you lack patience.
But its the right provider if you want to build character and patience

  • In 3 hours time it will be the 24 hours downtime mark. I will just rebuild the server somewhere else.

You see VirMach trying, you see VirMach working his ass off, you see the light in the tunnel, you see hope...
and then Murphy's Law happens :(

Haven't bought a single service in VirMach Great Ryzen 2022 - 2023 Flash Sale.

Luckily there is also Moore's Law happening~ =)

  • I'm just having issues with AMSD018, which is showing my VM as undefined :'(

  • I feel like I'm playing dominos :)

NYCB037 died two months ago, and took out two of my packages. So I reconfigured their load to other VPS.

AMSD025 lost VPS controls two weeks ago, with one package. So I reconfigured that load to another VPS.

Today I get email that one of my remaining packages got suspended because it ran out of transfer. The reason it was so busy was because it was handling the load of those other offline plans.

So, what to do with three failed and one suspended... and the month isn't over yet? Push their load to _another _VPS for the next 5 days until at least the bandwidth tracking gets reset... ;)

    You never got a replacement for NYCB037 & AMSD025 ??

I finally have the time to rebuild that server somewhere else: thanks VirmAche~ have a nice one/// 37 hours downtime and counting, but I am off to another provider~ I will never come back for any live system (and I will get rDNS + a clean IP: wow the 2025 luxury~)

There are tickets open for them... but only the initial AI responses: no action.

We aren't customers, we are just some labs' rats running on some pieces of hardware, we serve VirmAche's interests until the hardware fails. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
    Disrespected.

  • A little feedback about my LAX1Z020 "offer":

    • it was purchased on 21/JUL/2025
    • it went down from 25/AUG/2025
so just 1 month + 4 days of service.
The name of the invoice is SuperDisgusting-VM, which was already a good omen~.

The saying "You get what you paid for"... Maybe choose a more premium provider if you care about uptime? Most of the people with him just need a VPS to idle (no usecase, just keep it cause "it's cheap"). So if it's up, all good. If not, well, you get to come here and chat with others who share your pain

Never make the same mistake twice. There are so many new ones to make.
It’s OK if you disagree with me. I can’t force you to be right.

This is what I have done already~ and I will never come back here for non-DEVs.
Above the price chitchat I think there is a real priority problem in VirmAche's head, and a disrespect to its "users" (I won't say "customers" anymore because there is no such relationship defacto, the server is still offline after 4 days and not a single word from the man).
It is not a hosting "business", it's a gambling endeavor, no wonder https://vps.blackfriday looks like a casino website from Las Vegas - take your bets, play crap. Grab a server, and you might not get an IP, rDNS/PTR, warranty, support, replacement, uptime, CPU, RAM, disk... you can lose it all at any moment. Port 25/80/443? Optional! Custom ISO? You really believe in Santa, aren't you.
Yeah, the man is busy: we all are.

I think he believes "fixing" the problem, but ya, his communication needs work. Not sure if he already it, but @VirMach probably needs to look into having something like a twitter account or a blog where he updates whats down and what is being done. No need for it to be detailed. Something as simple as:

    1. XYZ is down, looking into it
    2. ABC is down, no network connectivity, pending new router, no ETA.

Just something that takes less then 1 min to update so his customers/users/"M's" know whats what instead of wasting time posting on forums and waiting for a response.

Never make the same mistake twice. There are so many new ones to make.

dont know whats the fuss about, they are extremely good dev / leisure boxes, just not production grade since the great migration years back.

I guess everyone should understand what is said and NOT SAID. https://virmach.com/terms-conditions/#sla I feel pretty sure the SLA has changed pretty significantly of late. During my year of down time, I'm pretty sure it was much more normal with respect to uptime. And yes, I said year of downtime. He did make a big billing adjustment when it finally worked out. The periods of no communication are the most difficult to handle even if one could justify downtime vs. guarantees, etc.

I cannot say I really understand the premise behind idlers or paying money for something that isn't actually planned for use. I do get having dev boxes (experimenting with installs and such) but not really with a paid service when so many options like virtual machines, containers, etc. are possible.
