Introducing a New Concept Product Developed by Chinese Developers – Guaqi
Guaqi adopts a front-end and back-end separation architecture.
The back-end is powered by WordPress, while the front-end uses Node.js.
A single WordPress back-end can centrally manage multiple front-end websites, and all articles published on the Node.js front-ends are managed through the unified WordPress back-end.

Hi @nwnuyhs!
Here at LES, you have cleanly and carefully explained what Guaqi is, including top level context (1), how it works (2), and a functional advantage (3).
Interestingly, one can visit the Guaqi home page to which you linked, and, unlike here at LES, not immediately know what Quaqi is. I guess, from Guaqi home page, one gets right away that Guaqi is a WordPress plugin, which perhaps could be added to the description here at LES.
For an international audience including non-Chinese speakers like me, maybe you might explain briefly what the Chinese "Guaqi" means?
I especially like explanations of Chinese characters including pinyin, old, classical, traditional, and simplified forms; pronunciation in Mandarin and Cantonese plus more dialects; and etymology. References to the use of the characters in literature and poetry and calligraphy are great! I always wonder what Xu Shen said about the characters in his Shuowen Jiezi.
Last, but not least, did I miss the link to the Guaqi source code repository?
Good luck with Guaqi!
I hope everyone gets the servers they want!

Guaqi is a brand, similar google,no meaning,it's just The author buy the domain so call it guaqi.
Gua qi in Chinese is 2 character combine ,no meaning.
The guaqi is a product, that back end uses wordpress, front end uses nodejs
I didn't understand at all
This is probably the worst idea I've heard in a while.
I'm also not entirely sure what problem this is trying to solve.
Google actually isn't a brand with no meaning. It's a word derived from googol, which is a number - 1 followed by 100 zeros.
It sounds a lot like Headless WP .

What is Headless WordPress?
Headless WordPress means using WordPress only as a backend (CMS) to store and manage content.
The frontend (the part users see) is built separately — for example with Node.js, React, or Next.js.
WordPress provides the content through its REST API or GraphQL, and the frontend uses these APIs to display the data.
So, WordPress keeps the content, and Node.js controls how it looks.
Main Advantages
More flexibility – You can build the frontend with any modern framework (React, Vue, Next.js, etc.), not just WordPress themes.
Faster performance – The frontend can use modern rendering methods (like static pages or server-side rendering), making websites load faster.
Independent systems – The backend (WordPress) and frontend (Node.js) can run on different servers and be updated separately.
Better security – The WordPress admin and database are hidden behind the API, reducing security risks.
Multi-platform content – The same WordPress content can be used not only for a website, but also for apps or other platforms.
Modern developer tools – Developers can use modern JavaScript tools and workflows instead of PHP themes.
More control – You have full control over design, structure, and SEO settings.
Possible Challenges
It’s more complex — you need to manage both frontend and backend.
Some WordPress plugins and features may not work because they depend on the old theme system.
You have to build or configure SEO, comments, menus, and forms yourself.
Example: Node.js frontend + WordPress backend
You write and manage posts in WordPress as usual.
WordPress provides that content through the API (/wp-json/wp/v2/...).
The Node.js frontend fetches that content and renders it as HTML.
The user visits the website and sees the page rendered by Node.js.
In short
Headless WordPress = WordPress for content + Node.js for design and display.
It gives you more freedom, better speed, and modern tools — perfect for developers who want a flexible, high-performance website.
I don't think the juice is worth the squeeze.
It's just an unnecessarily, overly complicated WordPress setup that adds an additional point of failure.

True. I don't see it as a solution either. One should simply create backend and frontend separately.
Please stop the planet! I wish to get off!
