As long as there are customers, i don’t see why they wouldn’t do this. Feels like they want to get out of the ‘cheap / affordable billing’ and keep premium clientele only.

Every community has their own traditions. In the lowend community its black friday sale, summerhosts and yearly price hikes from WebPros. It just wouldnt be the same without it.
They have data about their customer customers. So they know what are they doing.
This is not a good idea; it is not helping during an economic crisis.

Isn't that how the whole economic crisis starts? Cause companies up the prices to hoard as much money as possible to cover for the upcoming economic depression?
Never make the same mistake twice. There are so many new ones to make.
It’s OK if you disagree with me. I can’t force you to be right.
can't you just think of the poor CEOs and investors

True... If this keeps going on, the CEOs can no longer afford to go to coldplay concerts with their HR head or go to baseball matches to steal balls from little kids....

CEOS are stealing little kids balls now? What has the outside world come to? No wonder I stay in my cave and script a panel backend.

I hate this world looking for more and more greed while destroying its planet and its future. Maybe that isolation is a better place. I would love to live like that, in solitude, away from all this mess, enjoying a beautiful and vivid nature which could turn to dust in just a couple of hours.

Right now I am in a small town and trying to get the funds and find a place all my own outside in the country. the noise and people here bother me too much. I need to peace and quiet I have had enough of the noise and people. IRL I have like two friends and they are older and don't bring drama. I want my dolitude back so I can heal in silence.

Back on topic what WHMCS will end up doing it pricing itself out. The spaghetti coding in that panel makes me sick. They are trying to make it a premium product with a slumlord codebase.

well, for established hosts it's quite hard to migrate, but yes, for newer hosting companies there is no reason to start with WHMCS.
Etiher way it will eventually price the hosts out of business. Unless you are a big company and I am talking big the cost will eventually justify moving. You can't pay premium prices for software and keep prices low enough to cover everyone. When that kind of thing happens your market share drops, when that happens you lose money, and when that happens you have priced yourself out the market.
If they have done away with, or do away legacy licenses this will happen faster. I do not follow WHMCS as a rule.

Hosts that want WHMCS will still go with it. They can just forward the costs to their clients anyway. Rest of the host will either get a alternative panel or go out of business.

That’s exactly what they’re doing.
WebPros has also made a 6% cPanel price hike, removed the discount for small certified partners (which was 2%), and changed the discount for larger certified partners from 10% to 16%.
In other words, they’ve made it harder for small providers and startups to make money and compete with the more established ones.
In my eyes, it’s a pretty lousy move to push a price hike onto the small players while rewarding the big ones with a “hidden” discount.
WHY NOT MOVE TO BLESTA?
