MXroute LES Feature Requests
Hey friends,
I know I have a healthy number of customers here. I wanted to ask you, and also anyone who may be interested in the product if a feature exists later, what you'd like to see in the service. It's not a guarantee that it'll be implemented, it's just a targeted "give me your wishlist" request.
Some things already in the pipeline:
- Transactional email product.
- Full view of relevant SMTP logs, nothing missing, super fast, total insight.
- New in-house webmail client with Cal/CardDAV implemented automatically
- More advanced options for inbound filters (enable/disable most ACLs)
Do everything as though everyone you’ll ever know is watching.

I keep looking at mxroute reseller API options for other projects, I kept getting hung up on something that was a limitation.
I just can't remember exactly what right now but I will try to spend some time next week doing it again and give you the feedback

It's well positioned for quick changes. The whole new panel was built as an API translation layer and it just plugs right in.

Outbound email cound and alarm past X number of emails - to help me fix rogue scripts and rogue clients/users doing silly stuff.
Inbox storage space alarm configuration.
Example: SmarterMail (far from the fastest, most stable software I've used) lets me configure emails to me when a mail account sends more than X emails within one hour, sends an email larger than Y MB, or gets over ZZ% full.

Reseller logo upload in the panel. Any changes of opinion/workload?

I mean while I don't like it, I can imagine it's going to get suggested enough over time that I'll give in

Might leave a good review if it somehow finds it way in before next year

Options for trusted users/companies to increase their maximum outbound e-mail allowance per hour, for punctual or specific usages (e.g. machine-sent transactional e-mails), past the 400-email mark, would be nice. Even with KYC if you needed to.
Hi @jarland!
A while back I was using email services from a big provider. A customer wrote me an email, and I replied -- by hand, not automatically.
The big provider's email service had outgoing email spam filters which mistakenly flagged my reply to my customer's email as spam. They dropped my email, and they did not tell me what was happening.
My customer, having received no reply, introduced me to Paypal chargebacks.
May I please ask,
does MXRoute use outgoing spam filtration?
How does MXRoute minimize false spam positives on outgoing ham?
And, does MXRoute inform customers when an outgoing email is classified as spam?
Possible feature request: ability to turn off outgoing spam filtration on a per customer basis.
Thanks, and always best wishes!
Tom
I hope everyone gets the servers they want!
We do, but you get an immediate bounce. False positives for it are very rare, it’s mostly intended to protect IP reputation from a compromised account kicking off and just demolishing every IP’s reputation immediately. It’s definitely one of the key components to any effort to maintain inbox delivery so while I won’t ever allow disabling it, keeping false positives little to none is an absolute requirement.
Right now almost every false positive is arguable because it’s someone trying to manually forward a phishing email out, which obviously you can’t easily tell intent there systematically but I am learning how to do so. The rest are just people from Brazil trying to send emails with Blogger links in them (no less than 10000:1 spam to ham ratio with those links right now). And all the rest are actual compromised email accounts we were able to catch before they sent spam.
But, if I hear you here and combine it with my needs, it sounds like what might do the trick is to make sure you get clear insight into it and perhaps an ability to deal with the situation in a quick self-service kind of way. Although I doubt you’d ever have to anyway, making the rare events smooth sure doesn’t hurt. Good idea you just walked me into 💜

This is great!
Perhaps already provided by the bounce! Referring to my previous situation at the big provider, at least I would have known that something was happening!
It happened to me!
As you know, there is a big advantage to providers in making the ability to deal with rare situations somehow available. Not doing that cost the other provider years of my monthly payments.
I would be very interested to hear details about further progress MXRoute makes!
Is it too crazy to imagine that you might have time to post an example of a bounced outgoing email detected as spam, with headers, and with the bounce message?
Thanks again!

A good/better way to handle mail/sync on iPhone - ActiveSync is the goal, much cleaner for battery then pull and Apple f'd us all removing imap push. I know it's either annoying, crappy experience or expensive - maybe there's a better way?
I'd also like to see an O365/gmail/zimbra - but better with API and plugins/provisioning, along with a nice panel integrated for Spam - but definitely asking too much there haha

Full logs is the gap I'm most conscious of, so very excited to see that landing.
A slick enough webmail to ween the last of my users off gmail would be nice, but probably impossible.
Full log would be my vote too.
As for cal/card dav, why no offer sogo webmail? It include dav by default unlike hacky way to integrate with roundcube.
Firefox extension. I know there's one from a customer, but would prefer the one published directly from mxroute.
It doesn't integrate well with our backend. The effort to modify it to do so is, in my opinion, better spent on an in house webmail. You can see a buggy preview: https://webmailbeta.mxroute.com

Holy batman, that is awesome. Didn't expect to get inhouse webmail treatment. Made me think the dirt cheap i paid is nothing compared to your effort here.
