The point of buying S3 storage is usually redundancy, replication and availability. Slapping an S3 frontend on some random block storage is kinda pointless.

And you just explained why it cant be cheap.
I speak fluent sarcasm and broken logic. | I would agree with you, but thæn we’d both be wrong.
Not currently using them though, because host-c VPS+garage.
I didn't dive into S3 enough to find out whether I really need it or that regular block storage will suffice for me, but I'd go with Garage as well (probably on top of Yunohost)
Do you run a single node garage?
Yes think that raid60 vps is enough for my little rclone buckets and restic backup, stable/fast and no maintenance but no multiple availability. If I would go bigger/safer than that I would go S4 instead of taking multi node admin overhead.
Onidel currently offers a 40% discount for their S3-compatible Object Storage service.
The cost is $36/TB/year (only annual billing), no coupon necessary.
IIRC, ingress is free, egress is free up to 3x the storage.

Never said it was cheap.

How much storage do you need?
Must you use API?
Hetzner Storage Box works nicely with Rclone and it is quite cheap.
No fuss FTP upload and download if needed.
Fixed monthly price no matter what.

1TB would be enough not fancy. No API. They have changed the pricing recently . But still reliable option thanks
