Our Uptime

Thought some of you would like to see how we compare in uptime (you can always check at (status.fossvps.org).
We all want 100% uptime which we achieved in March on 5 servers and 8 minutes down on one rendering 99.998%
fossvps uptime for March 2026

User abuse

A couple of NodeSeek users decided that instead of using the free VMs for Open Source development they would instead just continuously hammer the cpu for over 10 days. During development I would expect bursts but not with 10 days continuous average above 40% over 2 cpus - come on play fair and think about others.
CPU usage abuse

NPM

Nginx Proxy Manager is working well and overcomes many of the NAT issues. Clients point their domain name to NPM and configure http / s to point to their VM ports. NPM will even generate the certificates and request account / password access.
More details at fossvps.org/npm_launch.html

Port forwarding

For protocols not using http/s we also have direct node to vm port mapping e.g. node:46002 > vm:46002

Reminder buc1 terminates on 17th of April.

    Project Name: JuodyLive

    Project Description:
JuodyLive is a mobile application focused on real-time communication, featuring live audio/video streaming rooms and interactive feeds. To ensure data privacy, project independence, and to move away from proprietary, closed-source, and costly third-party backends, the project is being entirely refactored to rely on self-hosted, open-source infrastructure.

How will you use this VPS? (Intended Use):
I will use this VPS strictly as a Development and Staging (Alpha Testing) environment. The primary goal is to deploy and configure an open-source LiveKit Server via Docker, alongside a Laravel/PHP backend API.
Since this is purely for development, testing SDK integration, and debugging signaling/routing protocols, the server will NOT be used for public production or commercial deployment. Traffic will be limited to my personal development devices to guarantee that CPU and bandwidth usage remain minimal and fully compliant with your fair-use policies.

Why do you need a NAT/IPv6 VPS?
As a mobile developer, I don't need a dedicated full IPv4 address. The NAT setup with a few port-forwarding rules is perfectly sufficient for testing LiveKit’s TCP/UDP signaling channels, and I can use Cloudflare Tunnels or Nginx Proxy Manager for HTTP/HTTPS API routing. This setup fits my staging workflow perfectly without wasting valuable IPv4 resources.

    Preferred Location: Moldova, Chisinau (Alexhost)

    GitHub / Source Code Link:
My development repositories are currently private as the mobile app is in active development. However, you can verify my active profile here: https://github.com/juodylive . Once the staging infrastructure is ready on the VPS, I plan to open-source the deployment scripts and Docker configurations.
