£15/TB/yr UK Storage KVM | 1TB £15 / 2TB £30 / 5TB £75 - Vive Hosting

ViveHostingViveHosting Hosting Provider

Hi all, Michael from Vive Hosting here.

It's been a while since my last post and that was on purpose. We went quiet whilst we rebuilt our infrastructure from the ground up, and I'm glad to say we're back.

If you saw our earlier posts you'll know we kicked things off with our KVM storage servers, and the response was incredible. That's where we made the biggest impact on price so it's where we're picking back up.

Quick bit of background on the quiet spell. We come from a software development background and ran hosting in-house for our own clients for well over 15 years. When we first opened to the public we did it the way we always had: WHMCS for billing and a mixture of virtualisation platforms bolted together, simply because that's how we'd done it for years in our other business. It worked, but it was never really built for this. So we rebuilt the lot. We've resolved countless issues, streamlined everything end to end and launched a fully bespoke platform of our own. No more WHMCS, no more patchwork. It's ours top to bottom.

To celebrate, here are some of our biggest discounts yet, on everything:
60% off monthly with code VH60MONTH
70% off annual with code VH70ANNUAL

Storage servers (the main event)

These are KVM storage servers: a fast SSD OS disk paired with a big enterprise storage array. Ideal as backup and archive targets, Nextcloud, media libraries, secondary storage or anything else within our TOS. Every plan comes with 2 vCPU, 2 GB RAM, a 25 GB SSD OS disk, 5 TB of monthly transfer on a 400 Mbps port and a dedicated IPv4 address. Storage sits on our ZFS-backed enterprise SAS array.

After discount that works out at a flat £15 per TB per year:

1 TB - £50/yr £15 per year (annual only)
2 TB - £100/yr £30 per year (annual only)
5 TB - £25/mo £10 per month or £250/yr £75 per year

Compute servers

If you need more cores and memory rather than capacity, our standard KVM compute plans are on the same codes. Each includes a 25 GB SSD disk, 5 TB monthly transfer on a 400 Mbps port and one IPv4 address.

1 vCPU / 2 GB RAM - £30 per year (annual only)
2 vCPU / 4 GB RAM - £8 per month or £60 per year
4 vCPU / 8 GB RAM - £16 per month or £120 per year
8 vCPU / 16 GB RAM - £24 per month or £180 per year

The bits that apply to everything

A quick note on IPv6: we fully support it and can enable it on any plan via a support ticket, but real-world uptake has been so minimal that we've left it off the standard build for now. If you want it, just ask and we'll sort it.

Everything runs on enterprise-grade Dell PowerEdge hardware with Intel Xeon Gold CPUs and fast SSDs, hosted in UK data centres with daily off-site backups and DDoS protection as standard. Setup is fully automated, with most servers deployed within 1 to 2 minutes of ordering.

To order, head to https://vivehosting.com, pick your plan and hit Order Now. Apply VH60MONTH for 60% off monthly or VH70ANNUAL for 70% off annual at checkout. We accept PayPal and card.

Any questions, please open a support ticket and we'll do our best to help.

Thanks
Michael

  • why only two OS available ? can i mount a custom iso ?

i had couple of hiccups with ViveHosting ... i will list them

    • first cannot login to client area.
    • password reset didn't work.
    • main support email did not response.
    • vps cannot be reached for many weeks.
    • wrote a pm .... after first never got reply back

may times, manyy days ... so i moved on .. when i was cleaning my list and had expiry date on calendar for this service password reset did work and i deleted my vps.

what was bit awkward was the renewal price was *2 or more times higher.

i hope Michael you improved the services and 100% advise to keep the communication always with your clients.

Agreed, we 100% had some issues. The core issue was deploying all of this on a platform which worked great for our very "manually managed" client base for years in the past which simply didn't scale properly when offering these at a larger scale. I do think we've learned out lesson here and I'd like to apologise for the issues/confusion caused. As for the price increase, that certainly wasn't intentional. Drop us a support ticket and I'll be happy to put together something special for you to counter this.

Yep. Actual IPV6 usage was something like 3-5% of our deployed VMs so it's not something we're putting any resources into right now. It's still available on demand for those that need it.

Our devs are pushing a few tweaks. This should all be back in a few moments.
Quite a few new VMs deployed over the last ~12 hours or so with some great feedback received. We're trying to iterate quickly :+1:

Custom ISO functionality is going through it's last chunk of testing and will be available soon :)
We have other OS options available, Debian 13 is back again. We have more, temp disabled to workaround an issue reported to us earlier today. They should be back within the next couple of hours.

    Recommended?
Yabs pls for the 1tb storage server.

  • GLWS, looks like a good offer that made me want that 2TB.
I myself will wait for that custom iso, (if you clarify that is really recurring) and, for @yoursunny be happy, what ipv6 is available (/128? /56?).
And good reviews from @ehab with yabs :)

i don't have yabs--- delete the vps when provider went silent in case billing generates *2.5 cost invoice.

anyway ... @budi1413 can finger very well.

@mizzik I'd love to give you all dedicated NVMEs but for £15/py what do you realistically expect ;)
These are storage servers built for bulk storage/backups, not lightning fast IO.

Absolutely. It's a KVM server with 25GB OS disk and then a secondary HDD at either 1/2/5 TB.
Databases would run much smoother on the OS disk so I'd recommend doing that but there's nothing stopping you from putting it on the HDD instead.

Can you please open a support ticket with your invoice reference or server name (assuming you have one) and we'll take a look.
Servers are auto-deployed, typically within 3-4 minutes of payment.

Fair point. We do have ticket references but they're only exposed internally right now.
I appreciate the feedback, passing to my devs to have this implemented right away.

All sorted - the UI now exposes ticket references.
On a side note, we've also rolled out per-server firewall management, so that's nice B)

  • I deployed, but the price is 50pound/year, not 15 even though I entered promo code.

Unless I'm mistaken I believe your ticket is #29T5H.

Assuming that is you, we agreed you would pay outside of our platform due to payment issues (which you have done) and you have paid £15 for the year. This approach requires manual intervention and your ticket has been updated.
Also just for clarity in case others are wondering, the IP is perfectly visible on the server info page :p

At least give us a chance - we are only human ;)

  • all sorted.
