Just be sure to have a backup & plan B. They fucked over a bunch of people by killing trials unexpectedly

(Quote) Glorified SSH scripting tool really. Which is a feature not a bug - you can use it everywhere & for anything. I'm liking it though. Combined with a virtualization solution that allows CLI control you can spin up VMs etc. No trivial, but…

Loads of ways to skin that cat, but I predict you'll have a tough time if you aren't familiar with any of it. (Quote) I'd personally go with ansible instead. If it's the same thing over & over just throw that in a script and then run it against…

Do you have control over the client side? Or are these customers thus the need to force it via config? I generally just used a bridge and hardcoded whatever I needed into the VM setup/client interfaces file

(Quote) Didn't know one could edit titles on here...unusual for most forums

High end typo in title lol. I'm just glad I'm a consumer in this mess lol (Quote) Has no impact on any of this. You can bill clients in Canadian rubles if you like

Rules free - sure. Most suppliers seem to gravitate towards the sub 7 price point anyway (Quote) Maybe split by dedi vs vps? Or some other sensible split Pool seems fun, but everything in one seems a little heavy

Surprised re proxmox panel...that usually comes with quite a bit of admin type control no?

Started standardizing everything on debian. Compatible with most ubuntu heavy tutorials but without canonical's bullshit (snap etc)

(Quote) Well I've got a gigabit fiber line here at home. Would definitely host CPU/storage/mem heavy backend on it, but def nothing public facing lol. (Quote) One of the major mid tiers announced that recently. Forgot who..ovh I think. I doubt a p…

Disagree with the notion that VPS is more expensive than dedicated. On the face of it sure - on a per core / per unit of resources. ...but that all goes out the window onces sharing kicks in. VPS model allows for significant overcommit...while sim…

This interests me too, but more as an academic curiousity than actual plan. (I'm def not touching this). I'd personally sign up for a gig as a service desk at one of the more established shops. Seems like a much safer way of learning a baseline of w…

Seems cheap for SG

No VPS. Was hoping to rightsize some idling nexus stuff but that didn't materialize. Got the 2 year protonmail bundle. (Quote) Linkage? I was looking for a displayport kvm that can do 4k@60hz but it's such a minefield. It's all 4k@30hz
