Unpopular opinion: If you pay for 'private' hosting with a credit card or a KYC-verified PayPal account, you aren't private. Your financial footprint is the loudest thing in the room. Decentralized payments and alias-based accounts are the only way to achieve real sovereign infrastructure. Disagree? Let's discuss.

Anyway, I'm amused by the fact that you flaunt the 'hosting tag', you've informed yourself about me, I'm happy

I've adapted to your sympathy, see?

Is what I'm writing too complex to understand?

I respect your opinion, but I think you're oversimplifying a very nuanced issue. Actually, the 'bad reputation' usually comes from poor network management, not the service philosophy itself. You can have a 'legal privacy host' that gets its IP range…

Great initiative! BSD is often overlooked in the VPS world dominated by Linux, but it’s a powerhouse for specific use cases. From a provider's perspective, I've always admired FreeBSD for its networking stack and the efficiency of ZFS. When you tal…

Thanks for the heads-up, Andy. This looks like a classic Credential Harvesting attack using a look-alike domain. The fact that you could log in at uptime-monitor.io with your real credentials suggests they might be using a Reverse Proxy (like Evilg…

Welcome to the forum! You touched on a very interesting point. In my experience as a sysadmin, the 'AWS Tax' is often paid for two reasons: Fear and Scalability APIs. Managers choose AWS so they don't get fired if things go down ('No one ever got fi…
