Uptimerobot shows multiple European vps down, but they are actually up - but seem not to be reachable from some networks.

(Quote) i guess the same question would apply to does a $7 limit on hosting make it less likely that you can buy good hosting here. thats the spirit...
-
(Quote) i think many - like me - didnt understand that the reserve means that the seller can chose to sell or not, so its not entirely pointless to bid below the reserve, but still a $7 bid is unlikely to win with a $500 reserve. maybe the reserve s…
-
(Quote) makes sense when there is a bin, but not when there is a reserve i would say. because the real starting bid is still the reserve.
-
whats the point of bidding $10...$12...$15 amounts when there is a reserve of $500? why not simply set a starting price of $500?

Can you guarantee that the wife and the mistress will not be hosted on the same node?

2 out of 3 pendlers were converted to idlers today. Thanks virmach!

(Quote) Exactly what I thought....

(Quote) I just use it for Backups of Backups but never had any issues, even less than i expected considering the price. Whats not stable?

This morning i found out that i got so close to the 2.22 deal that my credit card was charged, but no order id was visible, no invoice is in the system and of course no service was created. :'( anyone else? EDIT: turns out it was only pre-authori…

(Quote) the really great deals were on 25+26, after that virbot calmed down discount wise.

(Quote) i like the valuation of each deal.

(Quote) its even better than that: there were some severe thunderstorms in the UK at the time, and they used that as an excuse why all the appsumo deals disappeared. something like flooding in the datacenter. only thing they forgot is that they had…
-
(Quote) Although it has to be mentioned that this hosting just disappeared over night with lame excuses (some strom took out the datacenter bla bla). It was so bad that AppSumo fully refunded it.
-
(Quote) so just an idling IPv4? the ultimate lowendhost.

Virmachs billing system seems to be greedy currently. I paid for two invoices at once, and the amount for both was charged to the credit card, but only one invoice changed to status paid. Most probably the system figured out that my BF deals are wa…

(Quote) Since we are on Page 200 now, those who were promised a free SSD2G around 100 pages ago, will still not receive it.

My first plugin is always limit login attempts reloaded. Because there are brute force attacks going on all day and especially installations by amateurs like your students could be vulnerable. The logs are a constant reminder to use strong passwor…

(Quote) mine (also buffalo) reappeared with completely new hardware, location and IP after a long break. check your services in the billing panel, its not reachable unter the old cpanel domain.

Haven't heard of the cited Mailchimp incident. That would be huge.
-
I would say its not an issue. Eg SpamAssassin would have a rule to detect this (FromNotReplyTo), but i have never seen it in use, probably because it would do much more harm than help.

(Quote) Yes, moved 2 bf deals, both without problems. 4x more power for the same crazy price. Can't complain.....

(Quote) Because Google is under US jurisdiction, no matter where the servers are. If a US court tells them to do something that would be prohibited under EU laws, they would follow US laws and not EU laws. A Europen provider would not be in reach fo…
