Ah, yes, that is very normal. Servers try to optimize the resources, so if the server feels that you are not using the full RAM allocated, they tend to reduce it so you only have what you need. That way others who need more RAM can get it  Btw…

(Quote) I'll recognize that trademark anywhere! @ehab you never told us you are the CEO of HostSlick?

(Quote) Maybe you should share some of your best "collection"

(Quote) From windows 10 onwards, you can use ssh commands in command line. So just run "cmd" and start typing in your ssh commands.

(Quote) Just use: ssh user@2607:f8b0:4009:816::200e If you have SSH running on a different port, such as 1234: ssh -p 1234 user@2607:f8b0:4009:816::200e Or use the IPv4 ssh port assigned to you, maybe as 1122, where the server's main IPv4 address …

(Quote) Paypal is a scam. Not only do they have high "fees", they also have a $20 chargeback fee that sellers need to pay for EVERY chargeback. So not only do they lose the service they provide, they lose the money paid by the buyer AS WEL…

(Quote) Oh! I always thought mineral water was always readily available, but if i think back to my childhood, I do not remember that being so either. But I do remember soft drinks being available all throughout though (Quote) WHAT! You get carbonat…

(Quote) I wonder how early those people have to deliver the milk and news papers... (Quote) Wait, mineral water on special occasions? When the water supply is off?

(Quote) The joy of pounding Wendy?

(Quote) Yep, saw that in the English movies and always found it fascinating! Never understood why they would require multiple bottles of "fresh" milk every morning...

(Quote) No no, think of the marine life! How will the milk companies contribute to killing them if they do not use plastics? But I must say, I prefered milk in plastic bags as they take up way less space in the fridge. Only thing I did not li…

(Quote) Yes. This is what they do in SG too, but they do not replace the number with letters. For example, DBS bank (one of the most popular bank in SG) uses the number 1800 111 1111, which is damn easy to dial.

(Quote) Ah, that makes sense. Those do not contain any letters. (Quote) Must be a American thing. Here in Singapore, I do not see any phone numbers, only websites, QR codes and apps.

(Quote) Per month? No, that's too high for servers in India. Per year? Yes, need to double it at the very least.
-
Doesn't that mean that vanity numbers can not have any zeros? Cause only "+" (and pause) are on the number "0"? In the old days, phone memory was a premium. Land line phones had like 10 speed dials and mobile phones could hold a…

Do we need to have a deadpool list?

(Quote) True. And they can just do the full installation and boot from disk, even though that will lower their disk space.

@ZuckZwing Try this: https://www.serverhunter.com/#query=cpu_cores%3A%3E%3D2+memory_amount%3A%3E%3D2048+storage_capacity%3A%3E%3D15+traffic%3A%3E%3D1024 Customize it to your needs. Once you choose a provider, look up it's review over on this forum …

(Quote) Nice!

(Quote) Wont that cause issues with people using Alpine linux which requires the ISO to boot if you use their minimal installation?

(Quote) That's just stupid. If a VPS isn't working, people will first try to reset it, followed by opening a support ticket. Since they already have bots replying to the tickets, it makes more sense to just feed the bot answers to "VPS not work…
