Caught in the Act: The Undeniable Proof of Cyber Theft by Curtis Gervais and Rene Roosen

Recent documents have brought to light a shocking revelation: Curtis Gervais, owner and founder of Terabit (Bytefilter LLC) and Silvercreek, is a snitch who stole highly sensitive data from Path Network. Not only has Curtis Gervais admitted to these crimes, but he also threw his coconspirator under the bus. Specifically, Curtis Gervais signed a sworn confession detailing his actions as the former Tempest CEO and COO, explaining exactly how he hacked into Path Network's servers after his resignation. In this confession, Curtis Gervais admits to stealing proprietary data and sharing it with Rene Roosen, owner of Cosmic Global and Game Server Kings, simply because he was angry about his demotion.

What makes this entire conspiracy almost comical is how Curtis Gervais completely failed at basic operational security. He and Rene Roosen chose to communicate on Signal, an app famous for its privacy and self destructing messages. Yet, Curtis Gervais was too careless to actually turn on the disappearing messages feature or delete the chat history. When the Canadian authorities executed an Anton Piller order, which is a surprise civil search warrant, at his home on January 10, 2023, investigators simply took his devices and recorded the evidence. The entire unredacted conversation between Curtis Gervais and Rene Roosen was sitting right there, perfectly preserved for the court.

Detailed exhibits preserve the encrypted messages exchanged on the Signal app between Curtis Gervais and Rene Roosen from December 2022 to January 2023. These logs clearly show Curtis Gervais sending Rene Roosen highly sensitive Path Network files. This stolen data included firewall rules, network configuration repositories, encryption keys, and SSL certificates. Furthermore, Curtis Gervais shared customer contracts, sensitive IP related information, and source code, while openly discussing the prospect of ransoming off customer SSH keys for profit with Rene Roosen. Throughout these chats, Curtis Gervais and Rene Roosen calculate the value of the stolen data and emphasize the strong desire of Rene Roosen to exploit it.

Blockchain records provide concrete evidence that on January 2, 2023, Rene Roosen paid Curtis Gervais 0.49727579 ETH (valued at roughly $603.68 at the time) in exchange for the stolen data. This transaction occurred after Rene Roosen spent multiple days seemingly begging for the information and actively encouraging Curtis Gervais to steal the data by whatever means necessary. Ironically, within 12 hours of Curtis Gervais executing this theft, chat logs reveal that an anonymous user named 'Archetype' contacted Path Network employees. This user provided snippets of the stolen code as proof and demanded an $800,000 ransom. Shockingly, this was the exact same code that Curtis Gervais and Rene Roosen were sharing snippets of during their private Signal conversations.

The chat logs in Exhibit B and the cryptocurrency receipts in Exhibit C unequivocally prove that Rene Roosen actively encouraged the hack, directed Curtis Gervais to cover his tracks and even delete and damage path's servers and equipment as a big "fuck you" to marshal, and knowingly purchased stolen corporate intellectual property to gain an unfair competitive advantage in the server hosting market. By juxtaposing the sworn Canadian affidavit of Rene Roosen, found in Exhibit E, with the forensic chat logs and payment receipts, the evidence irrefutably proves that Rene Roosen lied under oath to conceal his involvement in the cyber theft alongside Curtis Gervais. The documentation not only shows that Rene Roosen committed perjury in Canada, but also that Rene Roosen willfully withheld information and lied under oath in his California case statement.

This screenshot is also revealing as Rene says he's already seen the code before.

This is because Rene previously before Curtis, had contacted Edward Coristine AKA BIG BALLS and gave him free servers in enchange for him stealing data from Path while he was an intern.

Their connection was revealed by Edward in a video recording. Where he confessed Rene had been in touch with him, and had even offered to pay for his legal fees if Edward wanted to Sue path for firing him from his internship without cause. When he was fired for leaking data to Rene.

Armed with the stolen data, Rene Roosen used his unauthorized access to insider information to directly contact Path Network's clients, including Kubbur, Nexus, and Vital Game Network. Utilizing the materials obtained by Curtis Gervais, Rene Roosen falsely convinced these clients that Path Network was going bankrupt. This malicious tactic successfully induced them to terminate their contracts and switch to the companies operated by Rene Roosen, Cosmic Global and Game Server Kings.

What makes this conspiracy even more malicious is how Curtis Gervais and Rene Roosen weaponized the legal system itself. Knowing full well that a court seal was in place and that Path Network was legally silenced and could not defend itself publicly, Curtis Gervais and Rene Roosen used the court seal to abuse the truth and lie to their friends and new customers about the status of Path Network.

To execute this smear campaign, Rene Roosen deployed a network of friends and associates. Led by Ryz0r(Ryan Nacker), the right hand man to Rene Roosen, this group included @Stefeman, @Kait, @PolyAnthi of EUGameHost, @ComeradeBlin, Jordy Visser of VibeGAMES B.V., and the DDoS Skid Mody. Together, in a highly coordinated effort with Rene Roosen and Curtis Gervais, they went around spreading vicious lies about Path Network. They were even caught brazenly joking about how Path Network was completely silenced by the court seal and could not say anything in its own defense against the falsehoods pushed by Rene Roosen.

Even more shocking is the involvement of Francisco Diaz of Frantech. After documents had been disclosed to him without court approval, Francisco Diaz actually weaponized them. Francisco Diaz of Frantech threatened to leak these court documents publicly if he did not receive steep discounts on his bills, demonstrating exactly how the stolen information and legal manipulation by Rene Roosen infected the wider hosting community.

Ultimately, the combined exhibits prove that Rene Roosen, alongside Curtis Gervais, formed an illegal enterprise through their respective companies. Together, Rene Roosen and Curtis Gervais coordinated a ruthless criminal scheme to steal data, extort Path Network for $800,000, and destroy a competitor's business operations. They did this all while enriching themselves and attempting to reclaim their lost standing in the Rust and game hosting markets. Once caught, however, Curtis Gervais immediately snitched and threw Rene Roosen under the bus. Despite admitting to the entire plot, Curtis Gervais continued to pretend to be a friend to Rene Roosen, and falsely claimed victory in a small Discord server he created with ComradeBlin and Polyanthi to spread further hatred of Path Network and interfere with their ongoing US cases.

The truth has finally come to light. These criminals, Curtis Gervais and Rene Roosen, have spent the last three years lying to everyone. No one should ever do business with these scumbags, and both Curtis Gervais and Rene Roosen should be permanently exiled from the hosting community entirely.

I wonder how Rene feels now, knowing that his best friend in Crime snitched on him and is going to testify against him.
