Is it allowed to mention LES-exclusive promos on OGF? For example, if I post a YABS there, can I link to the promo page, or at least give the name of the promo? Or should I just keep that private and simply say "promo price"?

    Link to LES post.

I don't see the harm in a link to LES exclusive post I guess, people have to be logged in to see it anyway.

Mention it, link it, but don't post the content of the actual post.

Maybe that should be included in the rules (or FAQ). I figured I shouldn't link directly to the promo page. What I wrote was just that it was a promo price but didn't give any details. Next time I figure it'll be safe to give the promo name and a link to the LES page. I just didn't know if there was some unspoken rule about not exposing LES providers to the MJJs of LET or something, since I know there is/was some bad blood.

I think common sense applies, i dont want a rule for everything, if common sense fails, I will add rules.

If it's in the LES Exclusive section, the rule is in the section name, really. This section is transforming anyway; it now only requires that it is posted here first, nothing else. The entire section may vanish in time. I am going to apply the new karma system to it if that does not add some life to the section, it will probably be removed.

Initially It was just a place that allowed higher prices; it was not well considered back then, and it was never really used much.

I am trying to move away from any sort of strict management and overregulation. I spend a lot of time fighting against it in my personal life in many directions so I don't really want to impose anything here if possible, in an ideal world, there would be a 1 line rule here: "Apply common sense, don't be a dick" :)

@AnthonySmith Do you make any checks, before a new provider gets a tag?

@AnthonySmith Do you check the hosts giving tags or randomly give em one?

How to get a Hosting Provider or Services Provider tag:

Open a thread on the forum with the subject "TAG Request - (some info/name/business etc)"
Let the community know who you are with an introduction, who or what you represent, what you want to sell and some business background.
If available and possible, please include the following information: Company Name, Website, Billing portal link, link to public incorporation information (official GOV/State sites only) and anything else you feel is relevant.
The community as a whole is then welcome to give their overall opinions, ask any reasonable questions and provide feedback and concerns. If it is reasonably well-received, then a moderator or administrator will apply your tag.

LES reserves the right to revoke a provider tag when it feels that it is in the best interest of the community.

As I said in the general feedback thread a while back, I cant audit every single host, some end up waiting weeks/months and just give up, I was having to reject sole traders that seem legit and allow hosts in countries that require no public info to register a company, it is a buyer beware market, 99 times out of 100 its a member that points out an issue with a host so we are testing letting the members decide who gets a tag.

I would say not currently, but it will be community-voted in V2 ... when the Karma system is in place.
There are big plans for this community, and I'm happy that @AnthonySmith is back with the ideas and drive actually to make it happen.
