I personally think it is not that difficult to make an operational summer host. Pick a billing panel, virtualization software, follow the instructions and do some configs and you are ready to go.
The hard part is when things go wrong. I am sure with enough time, you can fix any problem. But with no prior experience you may take way too long which would be quite bad as a service provider.
Then there is also the annoying part where you deal with unreasonable support requests, chargebacks and such.
Why don’t you get JB to comp you a server and do a series of articles for LET about your experience setting up a hosting company. Sounds like a potential winner.
