  • Why would you do that? (I know that you're just kidding and/or it's said just rhetorically, but still..., to continue my thoughts about this issue)

    Host made a mistake, most likely unintentionally, it sucks, but they also offered nice compensation (they offered to extend his service for a full year for free) in which op sadly isn't interested (i don't blame him for this). Quick refund would most likely save them from some bad publicity, but now it is what it is...
    I hope that they will learn from that, do it better and this thread sink at some point.

    I would argue that it's intentional though. It was set to expire at the end of a billing period - there would be no manual intervention needed, so why was that done? It could have just been left.

    The compensation is basically moot as the VPS had been terminated/wiped early and also the OP wanted to terminate the server anyway. I also would not want to setup everything again on a server just to move away after.

    I have not received the email. But from their website, Client Area > Email history, I have found, their WHMCS sent me emails. But I haven't seen them in spam too. And regarding the cancellation, maybe I did select immediate termination by mistake, I am not sure, because, I submitted the request when I fall asleep.

    Confirm the email time-stamp to be the same time you were falling asleep and cancelling VPS and then you will have a 99.99999% sure answer.
