We only have a single node with a CPU like that, and its for legacy HS customers. Not aware of any issues but it should definitely be better than that. Please open a ticket and we'll take a look!
Bought an ex-office HP ProDesk G5 600 SFF with 9th gen Intel processor (i5-9500) from eBay for $199
Upgraded RAM to 32GB
Upgraded storage to 1TB SK Hynix Gold P31 NVMe SSD
10Gbps internet via sonic.com
can you share your monthly expense for network? And that is such a nice server you got there Thanks
The internet connection is only $30/month 😲
I have a small network rack with a 10Gbps router (TP-Link ER8411) and a 10Gbps switch (MikroTik CRS312-4C+8XG-RM):
The bottom switch is a 16-port PoE switch that I bought to use with security cameras. I haven't installed the cameras yet though.
The internet connection is fiber and uses an AdTran 622v 10Gbps ONT that was mounted to the wall by the ISP (not in the photo).
The cables that go to other parts of the house run behind the patch panel, into the wall, down into the crawlspace under the house, then up to a wall plate in the relevant rooms. So far I've only ran cables to my office and to the TV, but I need to run a few more at some point.
It's hiding in a closet:
It's not in the picture, but the server PC is on the shelf above the rack, where the cables are in the photo. There's also a Raspberry Pi on the left that runs Home Assistant and a few other things. I've had the Pi for around a year but I'll probably eventually move everything on it to the server PC.
Thanks! Here's a photo of the 'server' PC sitting on the shelf with the Pi. It's very small! The power and Ethernet cables are tied to the back posts of the shelving unit using Velcro (Ethernet on the left, power on the right)
Only thing I'm worried about is power usage (electricity is around $0.33/kWh here) but I'll probably get solar panels installed in the next year or so, which will help.
Greencloud SJC10GbpsStorage-1, $120/3 years.
Note: Pre-order, and I think they might have delivered them all at the same time. Maybe lots of people benchmarking.
Note: IPv6 doesn't work.
just a free vps from a non-profit company. you can get one provided you're an indonesian
it's a lxc with only private ip on proxmox btw, still pretty cool since i just use cloudflared at there

indeed.
but: how to upgrade to a newer kernel-version? any ideas?
What OS? I know it's fairly simple on CentOS based ones.
Try this since you seem to be using Debian https://xanmod.org/ - the v3 one

Fixed IPv6 by deleting bad address and disabling autoconfiguration:
GCore, KZ Almaty VPS, after 6+ months, 1.20€ at the current exchange rate.
Most of the traffic is routed via Russia anyway, sadly.
Free NAT KVM | Free NAT LXC | Bobr
GCore, UA Kiev VPS, after 6+ months, 1.20€ at the current exchange rate.
Free NAT KVM | Free NAT LXC | Bobr
where to get such cheap?
I bench YABS 24/7/365 unless it's a leap year.
G-Core Labs sold these for 88RUB/m, I still got most of them.
Currently they sell these for 140RUB if you buy via the Russian site.
You can't buy them via the European site anymore.
Free NAT KVM | Free NAT LXC | Bobr
Veesp, RU St.Petersburg VPS, after 5+ Years, 9$/y
Free NAT KVM | Free NAT LXC | Bobr
How do I get to their Russian site?

Fuck this 24/7 internet spew of trivia and celebrity bullshit.
it's cepatcloud.id ? How the uptime?
They only started limiting the v6 speed in recent years.
Was nice when you could still hit 90MB/s via v6.
