All this power used and heat generated, destroying our world. And for what? For nothing other than an endpoint for an uptime monitor.

Wait, if no idlers, then what will the uptime monitors monitor?

The uptime monitors will monitor NexusBytes.

You seem a bit preoccupied with NexusBytes today. Having flashbacks ?

I am currently traveling in mostly remote areas until sometime in April 2024. Consequently DM's sent to me will go unanswered during this time.

Now that you mention it, SmallWeb keeps on sending me invoices. Got another one yesterday :#

How? Is the billing panel still up?

I would expect that means the billing panel is up somewhere, even if it is not accessible to public view. Not a good sign IMO, because that might mean that someone has the db. I'm going to split this off into a new thread in case others are seeing similar issues.

Via email, billing panel down though. And agree with @FrankZ that it's not good the db is still somewhere.

  • IIRC, someone managed to get the domain when it expired earlier this year.

For domain registrations, create an account at Dynadot (ref) and spend $9.99 within 48 hours to receive $5 DynaDollars!

I just went to find them but had already nuked the email, will post them next month when the next invoice comes in (if someone doesn't post them beforehand).

I mean, when you don't have idler, your uptime monitors can monitor ::1, which is what NexusBytes does.

I hadn't received any since SmallWeb went down, and have received two recently. Mine were for a domain renewal (I'd moved it to NameSilo January this year when NB/SmallWeb fell over) - which would have been due for renewal a month from now (Sept 20).

    Family never forget.
