Cheapest domain extension in 2024

Which domain extension is the cheapest in 2024? First year promotional offers don't count.

So far, the cheapest I could find is [9digits or less].xyz at around $1-isshh per year (renewal as well)

.de has one of the lowest, if not lowest, new and renewal costs. .uk, .eu and .us are also on the lower side with both new and renewal costs.

.de and .uk have no restrictions on who can register. .eu and .us have geographic presence requirements.

.us does not allow whois privacy.

Do you need a promo code? What's the renewal price? Can it be renewed at the promo price for up to 10 years?

Only for six to nine digit only, non-alphabetic, domains.

  • The most cheapest is that domain extension who is pre-blocked in all spam filters.

    Correct.

  • the cheapest would be .my.id around $1/year.

Btw, my .pw domain cost $17 now. So expensive

There are cheaper options. I'm using Planethoster for a .pw and there have been some minor hiccups, but it's cheap.

    dot xyz?

Only if it is all numerical, between six and nine digits.

If the domain name has any letters, .xyz is not cheap.

It seems very few support it, most are charging a lot and only one has it for the price you mentioned:

On a previous renewal the invoice was higher than $7.99. I had to ask customer service about it and they apologized and lowered it. I've barely dealt with them other than that, so I can't say if it was intentional or not.
