COSMIC Desktop
I installed the 1st alpha of the COSMIC Desktop. It's a new DE written in rust. It looks great and work fast. I've been a Gnome fan since 2006 so I hope that it gets a feature set like Gnome, as it lacks some keyboard shortcuts to essential services. Maybe I'm stuck in my ways but those Gnome features like a key dedicated to a drop-down terminal, a web browser, and an email client, seem like necessary parts of a desktop environment.
I've only spent about 30 minutes with this DE so maybe this review will change a bit, and I will update this post if anything new happens.\
But for now, Gnome is still the way to go.

I checked it too, for some minutes. It's not really my type of DE. The design is kind of weird, as for my needs it doesn't need that extra lines and make it look as a shitty basic DE. I waited long to see what they made, but it looks more like zorin in gnome with medical issues.
Will give it a look but so far I never found a DE more minimalist and productive (both) than KDE3 back in its days. There is this fork called TDE that currently maintains the KDE3 look and feel for the contemporary desktop. Less than that it becomes masochist IMHO, like Window Maker.
The Bologna railways speed control still used some sort of Window Maker clone a few years ago, but it received daily complaints for how inconvenient it is to just focus on a window... Nope, not my favorite either.

The most recent version of Cosmic Desktop:
☰ Probably the best Black Friday storage offers — AMD EPYC VDSes with NVMe slices (ref) from 250GB to 4TB and 500GB–10TB SAN disk. / Big HDD storage VPSes (ref) from $2.42/month per TB. / Storage dedis and hybrid VPS (SSD + HDD) are there as well.
This desktop looks good. Dark looks useful.
