RamNode | $12/yr NVMe KVM (Cloud) VPS

nessanessa Hosting Provider

Starting this week, we are offering low cost KVM plans on our new Cloud platform! You can choose between two plans:

1GB LKVM: $12/yr
1GB RAM
1 vCPU Core
10GB NVMe
2TB Bandwidth

2GB LKVM: $18/yr
2GB RAM
1 vCPU Core
15GB NVMe
4TB Bandwidth

These plans are IPv6 only, with the option of adding an IPv4 for only $2/mo; however, IPv4 will be FREE until Dec 31, 2024.

At this time, these flavors are only available in our new Amsterdam, NL datacenter. We have plans to expand these offerings to our US datacenters in 2025.

How to Set Up:

  1. Sign up for a Cloud Account at https://ramnode.com. Please note that due to a recent uptick in fraud, all accounts are manually reviewed. Please be patient while your account is reviewed and activated. Please do not use a VPN when signing up..
  2. Once your account is activated, add at least $3 in cloud credit
  3. Log into the Cloud control panel from your Client Area. Select the "NLX" region and choose one of the Lite KVM plans

You seem to have updated the link to your Privacy Policy to the main InMotion policy, but I submitted a request under the old policy (https://clientarea.ramnode.com/privacy.php) on 27th October and I haven't had a response. You might want to look into that if the privacy@ramnode address is no longer monitored as you might be missing some unforwarded requests.

  • The website looks super neglected/confusing to me, with plenty of legacy plans likely running on platforms nearing their EOL.

If I click on "Cloud KVM VPS" I am not directed to the "cloud" plans but just regular KVM. The pricing section does not show any helpful information on what to expect from the "cloud", only regular plans and Block Storage pricing, which apparently only really applies to NYC cloud anyway, but still no info on the cost and characteristics of cloud instances themselves...

Last post on the news section is more than a year old, but then there is a blog, but it is just SEO content...

If you have a new NL datacenter, consider updating the looking glass, because that section is listing the old one.

Finally, why do I need to add $3 to my cloud account if I am going to order a $18 plan? And why don't you specify that this is a IPv6 only plan on the title? Because that is what it is, right? The IPv4 is only free for like a month, even if we order now.

Trying to be constructive, really, I was interested in looking at how RamNode was doing and grabbing one VM or two.

Those ARE the cloud plans - they are KVM.

This is being worked on :)

Cloud plans are billed hourly, you need a minimum $3 cloud credit to create resources. You could also just add $12 or $18 for the whole year, but $3 is the minimum to get started.

Trying to be constructive, really, I was interested in looking at how RamNode was doing and grabbing one VM or two.

    Thank you!

Apparently I had a RamNode VPS, more than a decade ago.

How do you feel being saved in ones database for efin 12 years without knowledge? Usually if there is no business activity, accounts are closed and latter deleted. Especially over decade long! That's GDPR violation heaven.

It seems I still had an account there (last service 2019), too. Also found my phone number's still saved there. In case anyone else wanted to close their account and erase data, I generated this formal data removal request using https://www.datarequests.org/generator#!request_type=erasure , and added a small "personal" note above stating what I am requesting.

    Hello there,
I am not using this account anymore, so I am submitting a formal request to close this account and erase any personal data. Thanks for your service.

    To Whom It May Concern:

I am hereby requesting immediate erasure of personal data concerning me according to Article 17 GDPR.

Please erase all personal data concerning me as defined by Article 4(1) GDPR.

If I have given consent to the processing of my personal data, I am hereby withdrawing said consent for the entire process.

I am of the opinion that the requirements set forth in Article 17(1) GDPR are fulfilled. You cannot claim an exception based on Article 17(3) GDPR either, particularly as I am not a public figure.

If you have made the aforementioned data public, you are obliged pursuant to Article 17(2) GDPR to take all reasonable steps to inform other controllers, including search engine operators, who process the personal data listed above, that I have requested the erasure of all links, copies or replications. This applies not only to exact copies of the data concerned, but also to those from which information contained in the data concerned can be derived.

In case you have disclosed the affected personal data to third parties, you have to communicate my request for erasure of the affected personal data, as well as any references to it, to each recipient as laid down in Article 19 GDPR. Please also inform me about those recipients.

If you object to the requested erasure, you have to justify that to me.

My request explicitly includes the following as well as any other services and companies for which you are the controller as defined by Article 4(7) GDPR: RAMNODE

As laid down in Article 12(3) GDPR, you have to confirm the erasure to me without undue delay and in any event within one month of receipt of the request.

If you do not answer my request within the stated period, I reserve the right to take legal action against you and to lodge a complaint with the responsible supervisory authority.

    Thank you in advance.

    Yours sincerely,

RamNode is still a rather good provider then.

Years ago I've had accounts with ChicagoVPS and Blue{something} like BlueMachine (but not bluehost).

Was so long ago, I have already forgotten even the name. But despite all those years, they keep bombarding me with their "incredible" offers.

We couldn't care less about GDPR.
Our phone numbers are published on https://yoursunny.com/m/ since 2008.
Our street address entered at hosting providers is the office mailing address, not the residential address.

Most likely, I got the offer from LowEndBox, which used to be the good dealz listing, not the scammer listing.

EU and (former) EU folk and their love for data privacy… right for some, or wrong reasons for others, admirable in any case…

Back to deal: any shared hosting or storage?

Unfortunately, data leaks have become quite common, and I wouldn't want my phone number (or address), let alone payment data to end up there.

@MannDude once closed my account because there's no active service and they want to save on license fees.
WHMCS would allow me to login but shows account closed, and then I cannot order service or open ticket.
I had to sort it out through forum DM before I can order new service.
Imagine this happens during flash dealz, FOMO would be strong there.
