I checked our server's IPv4 address on mxtoolbox.com. The assigned IPv4 was not listed on any of the many blacklists checked by mxtoolbox.com.

IPv6 assignment from Hosteroid has been requested via ticket. Thanks to @Hosteroid for the nice server and for the upcoming IPv6 assignment.
An additional IPv6 possibility I considered was using Hurricane Electric TunnelBroker. However, TunnelBroker is not currently available for our server's IP.
As an alternative to TunnelBroker, Hurricane Electric currently offers free IPv6 transit. HE suggested,
If you happen to have an ASN that is running BGP on one of our connected IX's, you can reach out to [email protected] to set up direct peering sessions and enable free transit.

Wanna lease our ASN?
We've been hanging out with Hurricane Electric on Ontario Internet Exchange since 2023.
However, tunneling from Bucharest to Toronto won't yield good performance.
Since this is for a free Community project, have you considered donating your ASN lease service?
(For myself, I wouldn't mind paying.)

Nowadays that doesn't really mean much any more. Chances are that Outlook will block you, and as I found out, mxroute has adopted a similar preemptive blocking approach now (surprisingly, I am not seeing much outright blocking fro Google).

This has been my experience as well. Although I agree with you 100%, I'm still glad we have a clean IP. Thanks!

We might be getting close to having the Debian 12 OS install and basic testing completed. The server seems to be performing well. Does anything else need to be done before going further?
Server Name
I'm thinking of calling the server HosteroidLCS, which stands for Hosteroid LES Community Server. Maybe something shorter might be better for command line prompts?
hlcs$
Does anyone have a better idea for the server name?
How should we make VMs? Raw Command Line Qemu, BashVM, Something else?
The MetalVPS idea is to give each neighbor a shell account on which he can do whatever, as long as it is fair and reasonable, and White Hat. Making VMs with Qemu by hand in the shell account is just one of the many possible things which can be done in the shell.
Alternatively, we could add @babywhale's wonderful BashVM and make everyone a nice BashVM VM in advance.
As much as I like BaskVM, I vote for sticking with raw command line (and open source). To me, raw command line is the best way to learn. But maybe nobody else besides me wants the raw command line approach? Maybe we should do something else besides raw command line or BashVM?
Would anyone want a free command line account on this fine server?
Would anyone want an account only if we offered free, pre-made BashVM VPSes?
What should be the Qualification Rules?
How much time here with us on LES?
How many threads and comments?
Should we require "technical" contributions to LES discussions?
What about PII?
Administration Help
Does anyone want to volunteer to help with system administration?
Anything else?
What else do we want to talk about regarding this wonderful, new server project?
I'd like to volunteer for system administration. I'm undergraduate student in Indonesia working on my thesis, I am able to dedicate time on the server. I want to learn system administration by doing real life application. I have knowledge on Linux, bash, and some basic Linux administration tool. My journey with Linux began since junior high school and still growing curious about it.
Thanks @intermall! If you wish, please send scans of your government and university ID, plus your resume, transcript, and three references to the email address on my profile. It would be great to include also something about your thesis -- maybe your submission of the proposed thesis subject or even a draft if your thesis has progressed that far. Best wishes and thanks again!
