CRANEMAS coupon is up for 20% off DA Shared/Reseller/Crates on annual/biennial/triennial billing - this is on top of the already included discounts for longer billing terms.

    --

For those that have ticketed/messaged about the extra primary domains on CraneMail Lifetimes - you can upgrade your existing account within the billing portal to get access to the domain increase.

Select the product, hit the upgrade/downgrade button on left side, then pick and order a larger lifetime. You'll just pay the difference between your current one and the new one.

I've got 500/750/1000/2000G lifetimes listed on the site for upgrades, if any of you are insane enough to want higher than that - just drop a sales ticket and I'll add it. https://namecrane.com/store/email-hosting-deals

    Merry Christmas 🎄

Unsure if this is because I upgraded from the 250 to 500 from having an account merged early on, but as a heads up, it shows for me that it’d cost twice as much as expected to go from 500GB to 750GB. $138.84 rather than $69.42 to go up the one increment.

    CraneMail Lifetime 500G => CraneMail Lifetime 750G $138.84 USD

Same for 500GB to 1000GB, only applies a $69.42 credit.

I was just curious and having a look, don’t need the 750GB so I’m all OK. Just thought I’d raise it incase it needs fixing for future customers.

Yeah. That means I forgot to upgrade your purchase price on the product when I merged it. Since I basically just delete one, then bump the other in spec it doesn't automatically change the purchase price to 138.84.

Adding an item to my todo list to run through and update the pricing on those initial merged ones.

Just rolled through all of the manual upgrades I did last month and fixed the pricing. Let me know if it shows correctly now.

    Good stuff :)

On the dev side, you can now set the default language of a domain in the cranemail create/edit pages. Editing only applies it to new users, not actives. Maybe we should have a 'propagate' option?

Is there a way for me to create an email account for a user that does not allow any incoming messages (e.g. noreply@) and instead of taking up storage or filling up a small quota, it just >/dev/null's everything? Using this address more or less as a transactional account.

You can create a 'content filter' that just matches all emails and deletes.

    Awesome, thanks!

To delete sent messages as well, could I just switch it to "Any condition can be met" and add a new condition From my address? (just trying to confirm they won't be deleted before actually being sent hah)

  • The activity in this thread makes me feel like I made a bad decision not to get one of these, and yet I see they are still available. I use Proton for my main email (including custom domains via SimpleLogin), and I have an mxroute flash sale ($10 every 3 years) for random other emails. Am I missing out on something great here? Am I going to regret not getting this?

Before I pop in a ticket: does anyone know if I can also manage all my DNS entries with Namecrane? Thing is, the dns entries of my email domain currently are managed on MyW shared hosting in DA and I need to make some entries for my self hosted Snikket instance (hosted on another vps). So I'm not gonna host any files/Snikket over at Namecrane but was wondering if I could manage all my DNS entries there, or whether I'd need to continue managing them at MyW/Namecheap and point MX to Namecrane instead.

I'll likely manage DNS through Namecheap in the future, as I slowly transation projects out of MyW. However, with @jarland on top of things, I don't feel rushed or fear that the project will shutdown any time soon.

sending to the email address that has the domain internally and the server set the an external server works now, but I am having issues with postfix using the servers as a relay, still trying to debug that, not sure what the issue is currently. just seems to be timing out.

DNS is part of the trifecta of services we want for a 'complete' domain offering. Email was a big one and I think we've done well with the launch. We're working on getting rclone in place and possibly an inhouse webdav plugin for file storage.
