I have yet to find low-end hosting in my home country, Japan. So I’ll stick with Tokyo. Most providers that I’ve seen here are either unreliable, expensive, never heard of or require a legal contract.
You may joke about space, but that's a real thing that's happened. If Microsoft, HPE, and NASA can get a internet connected computer in space, it should totally be possible to get a low end orbital VPS.

It's about $0,33M to get a cubesat up to a low orbit.
If we can get a WiFi extender installed on it and pack it with 5x RPi 16MB and share the costs as prepaid option during the next BF-frenzy, we may have our LOSLES VPS by this time next year!
When it comes to raw performance, I've found these locations consistently deliver excellent results:
USA: New York City, North Virginia, Denver.
Canada: Toronto and Montreal.
Europe: London, UK; Frankfurt, Germany.
Asia: Singapore, Tokyo, Japan.
Oceania: Sydney, Australia.
These locations typically have robust network infrastructure, strong peering relationships, and high levels of competition among providers, often resulting in better performance for end-users.
Of course, the "best" location always depends on the specific needs of the application. But these hubs have consistently proven their worth.

Thanks for your comment. Tokyo is a location we will be opening soon. In the rest we already offer the service.

I prefer:
Dewlance - Affordable Shared/Reseller/Master Reseller Hosting
WHMCS Addon - DemoTiger Video KB - Tutorial Videos for Hosting Providers.
But wait a minute.............................where the deals?
Switzerland, but not so common.
Anything vaguely Europe-ish works for me. Most just like the <20ms latency on ssh. US based at 100ish feels a bit meh
Thanks for your comment. Switzerland is not a profitable location to offer shared or reseller services.

Personally I go for London or Scotland based servers for low ping and decent upload speeds.
I would prefer Turkey location, with a good peering infrastructure you can go to Europe, Asia and Middle East with low latency.

For most it really depends on where you are located geographically and what you are wanting to host I assume?
