UK KVM VPS - £15/yr (2C/4G) up to £46/yr (8C/16G) – Vive Hosting

Hi all, Michael from Vive Hosting here. If you saw my first post, you’ll know we kicked things off with our KVM storage servers. The demand for these was incredible and so was the feedback we received.

Whilst we certainly made an impression with those large-capacity KVM storage plan, that's not really what we're all about. We've been providing virtualised servers for a long time now but mostly only on a one-to-one basis with our clients (we've been doing software dev for the last 15+ years). Times have changed, we've added significant capacity and we're opening the gates by offering our VPS and other hosting plans to the public under our relatively new "Vive Hosting" brand.

Today, we're kicking off with some introductory KVM VPS offers, all running on enterprise-grade 14th-gen Dell PowerEdge hardware with Intel Xeon Gold CPUs and SSD backed OS disks running ZFS. All of our KVM VPS plans include automatic failover within our cluster (we're pushing 16 nodes on this one cluster alone) as well as daily backups in case the worst was to happen.

These are UK-only in a DC just outside London.

So, let's get to it - here's what we've got for you!
They're all limited quantity so get one while you can. The smallest plan (2C/8G) is very limited (this barely breaks even from a cost perspective).

2 vCPU / 4 GB RAM, 25 GB SSD, 400 Mbps, 5 TB transfer – £8 for six months or £15 per year
https://console.vivehosting.com/index.php?rp=/store/exclusives/exclusive-2c4g

4 vCPU / 8 GB RAM, 25 GB SSD, 400 Mbps, 5 TB transfer – £14 for six months or £26 per year
https://console.vivehosting.com/index.php?rp=/store/exclusives/exclusive-4c8g

8 vCPU / 16 GB RAM, 25 GB SSD, 400 Mbps, 5 TB transfer – £24 for six months or £46 per year
https://console.vivehosting.com/index.php?rp=/store/exclusives/exclusive-8c16g

Orders are manually approved to ensure capacity and performance. If demand is anything like it was with our storage plans last month then we may have to stagger the activation of these. It'd be a breeze for our hardware and network, it just puts a little strain on our support.

I should mention that all of the above plans include one IPV4 and a /64 IPV6.

If anyone is interested in IPV6 only versions of these, drop us a support ticket and we'll take good care of you with an additional 20% discount. We also have the option of going bigger so if you're looking for something with a bit more punch, just let me know.

Thanks
Michael

Yeah, the storage VPS was a real hit. Recently rolled out another storage array so we'll likely be back with some more deals on this soon.

    Interesting use of Proxmox. :)

Placed an order (#5123, invoice #5108) but didn't get any emails (apart from one from PayPal): it seems that mxroute doesn't like your email setup. Re-sending email verification didn't help. if I logout of client area, there's a distinct possibility that I won't get back in! I need to reset my password, as I wasn't paying attention when ordering the service. :'( Ticket Created #ZZH-460418

You are very limiting in having just two pre-defined OS templates. Can you not offer a netboot.xyz ISO, preferably as a mountable ISO?

Your ticket's been updated, account details changed and new password on its way. Will investigate the mxroute email rejection.
We're in the process of adding more OS choices, these should be available real soon. We've got a bunch of tickets open with a bunch of OS requests of if there's anything you specifically need please let us know.

As for bootable ISOs, this isn't something that we've really considered. I'll have a chat with the team to see what we can do and if this is something that we want to implement.

We've got a test IP and file download - https://ping.vivehosting.com/
Unfortunately we do not have a looking glass right now.

With regards to blocked ports, there are a few but it's mostly open.

We don't permit using torrents or P2P file sharing so there are some blocks around this and a couple other things but you should be good to go for the most part.

Reverse DNS is supported although this requires opening a ticket with us for the time being.

Thanks for the quick resolution to my Ticket. B)

Netboot would allow you to cater for a multitude of OS without the hassle of setting up templates. Templates are really for a dumber (Windoze) luser that thinks one big partition is de rigueur - quick & dirty way to install an OS. Literally (nearly) one size doesn't fit all.

A netboot ISO could be attached to a VM by default and only activated by changing boot order. The small ISO uses little resources. A systemrescuecd ISO may also be considered.
