Video is an awesome medium for the right content. It's a trash fire for the wrong content.
Shorts/videos visual proof you’re guiding users on security best practices, which can double as documentation in case if something goes wrong for your customer. That said text guides are still the backbone for detailed how-tos. I think shorts can have a niche for small hosting providers. They’re not about chasing views but about showing customers you’re proactive like quick clips on setting up MFA or spotting phishing scams.
I'm still unclear how producing content in a less consumable form "shows customers you're proactive" rather than just showing them you're hopping on this week's bandwagon, but I guess we'll agree to disagree.

A short video could be used in court to prove the provider tried to educate users admissible under the federal rules of evidence if authenticated. I too searched for but there are no specific cases to back this yet, but it’s a legit way to show due diligence. Text is better for detailed guides. Personally I did recently reactivated a bank account. Installed their app on my phone and the first thing that they redirect me to is a video on best practices. Of course you can choose to skip it, however but a quick video in onboarding can complement it and cover your bases legally. I watched the whole video for just to understand how can this help the bank or the customer. Majority will skip, but that doesn't matter for them. Some might watch.
