Have sex with them what else would I do?
I think it's time I revisit our TOS and make some additions to what's prohibited.
Anyway, he's got all SSDs and no hard disks. I said hard disks. You get it? I'll see myself out.

Ah, right, add ViveHosting to the same watchlists that @AuroraZero is on!
Never make the same mistake twice. There are so many new ones to make.
It’s OK if you disagree with me. I can’t force you to be right.

Perhaps us beta testers will get a 5GB storage bonus, or a single snapshot slot.
So the interesting thing about your snapshot comment is that all our VMs are already backed up, it's just not exposed to you directly.
Firstly they're actually replicated over 2 additional nodes in the same cluster and after that the backups kick in. In fact, we take hourly snapshots of the last 6 hours as well as some daily, weekly and monthly snapshots too. When we're dealing with OS disks between 25-250GB which is the most common for us, it's really no issue hanging on to a few extra backups as a just in case.
We've considered making these available to our users but it's just one of things things hanging around on the to-do list.
One thing I will say of course is that we don't hold on to these once services are terminated. There's a little buffer but at the end of the day it's not our data so we have no reason/right to keep a backup if you've cancelled your server with us.

Been trying out netboot from debian, to install minimal Almalinux 8 (specific reasons), to no avail, so far. Textual installation hangs with a blank screen. It seems that cloud-init has been fighting me over control of grub but I can work around that bit. Will try to find time to experiment more.
It wisnae me! A big boy done it and ran away.

At least we can agree here add systemd to the mix as well.
I don't believe I'll ever like systemd but there are some parts that are nice.
systemd and netplan.io are two best things in Ubuntu.
They allow declarative syntax that describes the desired outcome, which is superior to ad hoc scripts that attempt to produce an outcome by effecting changes.

Systemd completely throws away the Unix "do one thing well" principle. (although this is probably not the time for that argument!)
Still haven't got a use for mine, due to not being able to boot an ISO/successfully boot netboot.xyz
I pop back into the site whenever I remember, in the forlorn hope that something has changed.
