Hello!

Thanks to @dan_onlyservers' kind server donation, <3, @netixen, and @babywhale of BashVM fame, FOSSVPS is giving away six Debian 12 London IPv4/IPv6 VPSes. These VPSes share a pretty good, unmetered network. The time period is until October 25, 2025, and might be renewed.

Please check the below Yabs and NWS test results for the specs. Please note that each VPS offered here has one dedicated IPv4 address and also an IPv6/80. We expect that there soon might be a second round of NAT IPv4 VPSes on this server.

To apply for a free VPS, please post in this thread. This giveaway will be open for a day or two at least. In your post, please explain what you want to run on your VPS and why FOSSVPS should select you as a recipient of a free VPS.

Free and open source software only.
White hat only.
Not for commercial use.
No service level agreement.
Ephemeral. Could disappear at any time!

  • Thanks Tom, you know I am keen. It does seem like a lot of work (to build) if the server is going away in October, lets hope it extends. Keep up the good work.

    Progress:

We now have an additional six Debian 12 London NAT IPv4 / IPv6 VPSes available to give away.

So, if you want one, please let us know. From now on requests should specify which type of VPS is being requested: dedicated IPv4 or NAT IPv4.

The more effort you invest in reading this thread and in writing your request, the more likely it is to be successful. <3

Thanks to @babywhale from BashVM for coming aboard and making these VPSes for us! <3

Thanks to @dan_onlyservers for the kind server donation! <3 Thanks to @netixen for facilitating the donation! <3

Thanks to FOSSVPS' wonderful users! <3 Thanks to LES! <3

I hope everyone gets the servers they want!

  • Thank you very much for the kindness. I really appreciate your efforts(among other people) on FreeVPS.org, which helps me watch BBC videos occasionally.

I don't need this resource, hopefully kind people in need can get it, and wish everything goes well with you.

Follow this guide. I follow it every time I need to setup a proxmox on 1 public IP:

Includes network port forwarding / ip table routing.

Ya, sorry about that. For anyone wondering, I was testing my firefox plugin for LES that lets me upload and attach images from this comment box (textbox) and while testing, instead of clicking "preview" clicked "Post comment"... So quickly removed my message and since i couldn't keep it blank, changed it to what you see above :D

Anyway, good luck to FOSSVPS and ... erm... their sponsor... who I can only assume, uploads a lot of pictures of their servers...

I thought your deleted post was a funny joke!

If a server expires, it gets "deleted." If the server's expiration date is pushed back, then, in a sense, the deletion gets deleted, hence "deleted." :)

I hope everyone gets the servers they want!

Lol, no, it was much more simple, just a mistake

Never make the same mistake twice. There are so many new ones to make.
It’s OK if you disagree with me. I can’t force you to be right.

  • Can confirm mine is still running smoothly. This is great, thanks again @Not_Oles

Delighted you are satisfied with your FOSSVPS!

I need to make some more London VPSes. These would be either NAT IPv4 or IPv6 only.

Also, one VPS was suspended for high CPU use, and, since I have no response from the client, that VPS might be re-assigned. I have to check to see whether it's dedicated IPv4.

I will post again when some more VPSes are available. Might take a couple of days.

Thanks to OnlyServers for their kind donation! <3

I hope everyone gets the servers they want!
