Almost instinctively deleted the NAT VPS renewal email lol - showed up as "Billing Department" as the sender
Thank you for the concern/feedback. I'll look into making this more intuitive in the the future. Not sure why you posted this here instead of opening a ticket.
Today i am able to share some amazing NEWS with all of you!
Germany is BACK! Now LXC Based VPS Services can be provisioned in Germany (FRA)!
Users with existing "old" Plans in Germany: As some of you may be aware the "old"/"legacy" services are running on servers with End-of-Life Software versions (OVZ6 and OVZ7).
Therefore we will try to bring all of you onto the new LXC Platform. This means you will have access to more resources (such as more Diskspace and Bandwidth/Traffic).
I also want to address two concerns that our clients with existing services may have.
Pricing: You will get to retain your current pricing level, no changes!
No more 128mb plans. All users holding an 128mb plan will get an upgrade to a 256 MB plan on the new LXC platform while still retaining their old price.
In order to make this process as smooth as possible, please see the following timeline:
September 10th to 15th 2024: Users with OVZ Services in DE will find an additional LXC VPS in their account.
Users have at least 1 Month to migrate their data to the new Platform.
Oktober 15th 2024: Any old "ovz6" and "ovz7" based Services will be suspended.
Oktober 30th 2024: Final backups of the OpenVZ-Germany Servers will be taken.
November 1st 2024: Decommissioning of old OpenVZ-Germany Servers.
If you have any questions or Feedback please feel free to reach out via Ticket or reply to this e-mail!
I'm not sure if this has been posted yet - but the Auckland / New Zealand NAT VPS from the pre-handover days of mrVM are being discontinued at the end of the calendar year. It is a pity since it was one of the only lowend NZ VPSes around.
Dear MrvM Client!
Its been an amazing Year since MrVM has started its Quest of improving
service quality, stability and reliablity. This has meant a lot of changes
for our Platform, such as starting to from openvz to LXC.
With our LXC Services seeing great interest/uptake and our OpenVZ service
count declining, we also have to sometimes make hard decisions.
At the end of the Year (on 31st December 2024) we will be closing a
Service Location that you currently have a service in.
Service(s):
NAT256 (NewZealand) - Legacy
You can choose from the following Options:
All-Clients: Partial Refund of the remaining Service time to Account Balance (This is the default option).
All Clients: A replacement Service (LXC) with the better specs (512mb) in any of the following Locations - at your current price: Vienna (Austria), Amsterdam (Netherlands), Frankfurt (Germany), Texas (USA).
If Paid by Paypal: Partial Refund of the remaining Service time to your Paypal Account.
Please do let us know, and apologies for the Inconvenience!
Dear @SGraf and whole community. I have got e-mail "Your service, NAT128 (NO) - Legacy - 599, has been canceled." Server was mostly idling since many years. Invoices paid in-time. Got no e-mail about incoming cancelling, etc. Does anyone got the same e-mail and got VPS cancelled?

I got the same email/cancelled and with no advance warning. Check the dashboard and its gone (and there is a message on the dashboard about it - but it was never sent out as an email).
I got the same abrupt cancellation email for the MrVM Milan OpenVZ service. The Milan OpenVZ service had not been working for the last two months. Then it was working, for one whole day, then cancelled with no warning. That's so charming.
At least Mikal gave some warning when a service was cancelled.

To put it simply: "No".
You are ofc free to speculate, but please do remove the misleading picture from your post.

That sadly is the reality. Old, outdated things causing problems. Are you really surprised that at some point nodes running openvz6/openvz7 are getting retired? Especially if there is no viable long-term upgrade path. (We are talking super old outdated kernels,....)

Notifications went out in april with a planned date of july 1. Some people wrote in via ticket that they needed a bit more time. So i kept things on a bit longer. (i should have sent a second email after that, but oh well, hindsight.) Right now its just catching up to the state it should have been earlier this year.
However there is some good news as well. Technically there is a (not announced) "grace period" at the moment, meaning that while the billing portal says "cancelled", but the VPS are suspended prior to the openvz hypervisors getting decommissioned (next month). This way the last users that have missed the announcement will have a chance to notice and get in touch.
If you need, there is the (free) option of temporarily bringing your server back online for a few days so you can migrate your data. Just send in a ticket.
Oh you'e right @SGraf! That's true, we've got 1st e-mail about OpenVZ expiring. Anyway 2nd e-mail would be nice before it happened. Anyway thank you gave pay-free period for us. My Norway VPS was rock solid, it was really nice journey, was on of the best idle virtual machine I had! ;] Cheers!

Had a test-phase for users to set it themselves. Lets just say there are reasons why it was reverted back to "open a ticket if you need it".
