AWS Down

Hurrah! That's about 20% of the World's hackers/crackers/scanners/spammers out of action.
To the legit businesses that use AWS, it serves them right for effectively sponsoring the nefarious activities that abound on AWS. It hammers home that providers don't enforce terms and conditions, when it comes to network activity.
Long may it last!

Now, can the same happen for Hetzner et al - one can only hope?

  • Didn't realize AWS was down... Don't use any sites or any service that uses AWS apparently....

It’s OK if you disagree with me. I can’t force you to be right!

My roomba wouldn't clean, and my smart thermostat was stuck on "NWO mode" (whatever that is) and kept my house at 80f. Even worse, my smart car was stuck and wouldn't drive because it couldn't sync to the update server.

Usually companies that have blog posts like "We've just secured $50 million in VC funding!"

My camera-assisted bidet couldn't spray my ass because it couldn't use the cloud to confirm it had an accurate target lock.

I'm noticing spam from firebaseapp, so looks like these guys (Google Cloud?) need to be nuked too. Grr.
(MXRoute doesn't automatically flag 'em as spam but does with my cron task notifications - go figure.)

I'm glad I'm still old school and no IOT devices, I don't need AI watching me even though I swear the wifes alexa in the kitchen is keeping an eye on me, I just say "alexa shut up" when it randomly starts talking...

So you keep a AWS IoT device that records all you conversations and sends it to third party vendors for quality audit and still call yourself "old school"? And calling it "wife's" isn't gonna help your case here.
