Good to see you again.
Credit seems to decrease while I have not signed up yet. I will try it in 2 weeks!
Out of curiosity, any plan to offer the vm with ipv4 not nat?
That will significantly increase operating cost and diverge from low end.
Yeah well the tier in tierhive was a consideration when we picked the name.
If this part works out, we will do the community tier, and pro tier, and you will be able to move service between them, pro having derestricted performance and dedicated IPs community being almost like a p2p pool of resources with reliability ratings.
But, you know... could be a year away, it's week 1 of public Alpha. 😂

It would be great to lower this to a 5-minutes min charge (ideally 1 min).
I just wanted to clarify (for others) that the billing was correctly 1-hour overall, even with multiple boot/shutdown. So you don't have to worry if you have to stop/start the instance multiple times.

Past experience, volume of abuse and chargebacks, this is a new venture with a new payment provider/gateway, and we don't want to immediately go in to high risk zones.
After playing with this service for quite a while now with BSD installations, I have to give them two thumbs up. I really like their custom dashboard and pricing (so far) is excellent. Going forward if they can provide different locations and the uptime stays high, it will be hard to beat. Great job!

What worries me is that there are no bandwidth limit: or did I miss it?..
If we need too, we will.
Until then, dynamically shifting individual and tier based QOS seems to be coping just fine, we passed 500 users live already, so far so good.
Also nothing is set in stone, if we hit an unexpected limitation or scale issue we are not against pulling the whole thing down for a few days if required to make changes.
It really is just an alpha not just in terms of code but viability.
Honestly if all we get is 2000 people signing up and running a single 128mb VPS as a cheap proxy to use free credit as long as possible then the experiment failed and it will be torn down, no harm done.

@gabaweb Just maybe, if you ask politely, and also provide some links and other information so they know who you are, TierHive might make an exception in your case?

I understand. In many cases, consumers are too entitled, and consumer protection laws are heavily biased in favor of the customer.

For now I just wanted to test it, but when I have a real personal project for it I'll definitely ask nicely 🙂

What is your deadline to determine if the experiment failed/succeeded?..

It would be great if tokens could be transferred to someone else/into another account! It could become a LES "currency" (something more valuable than useless crypto).

There are legal reasons we can't do that, it would require us to incorporate KYC regulations, trust me we REALLY wanted to be able too, maybe a long term goal, but in all likleyhood, not, we dont what to be regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
We do plan to make teams though, where you can have multiple members access you "subnet" and okens and resources with a simple ACL, again... longer term goal.

Tuesday... get buyoing tokens! Seriously though, there is no set deadline, we talk about it every day, for now it's safe for the rest of the year at least

Dedicated pubic IPv4 can be obtained with tokens:
No hostname available. affbrr
Seems reasonable, probably pretty accurate pricing too.
