Your name is not in the "About" page of LES. Maybe you would want to edit that and add yourself in "Staff" section.
I approved his application to make a statement and respond to the accusations. He likely won't be sticking around.
This is a big mistake. The drama on the other forum had more than 100 pages when he was banned there. He had his chance, and blew it every single time.
Are they a scammer solely based on the assumption they are the same person as the previous operation, or otherwise?
Reasons for my request of a ban:
extortion - an illegal and bannable offence in theory;
threat - a bannable offence again;
being a dick with regards to personal identification info of forum members (data obtained as provider).

Not everything is documented here, so for the sake of people who don't visit LET, I thought it would be good to have extra context here. This wont get that far. Based on the pattern of responses.. probably banned by page 5.

Can you share some info about these. What extortion specifically? Also what threat? And what personal identification info of forum members? I don't have any information of forum members, I didn't know this forum existed until it popped on an alert about our new company. I didn't even know LET existed until a few weeks ago, or even Velox Media for that matter.
I'm brand new here and every message is only in this post.
We have thousands of happy clients and like 3 people who aren't happy, 1 who started this was upset his free service was shut off, then bought service and upset he was charged for buying service.... which I'm still confused about.

Will I be personally liable in a lawsuit? Sure but lawyers won't get millions if they decide to sue my pants away.
Why did you register as a sole proprietorship vs an llc?
You're not worried about personal liability? Wealth managers put everything in LLCs, cars, boats, houses, everything as it shields liability.
My lack of wealth shields me.
The question is why? Isn't it the price and everything else for a single member llc? Still schedule C on your taxes and everything. It's just multi member and corporations that have other requirements.
The email in OP states you have taken over the "management of resources" from the previous owner.
What resources do these include? Brand, servers, IPS, etc?
The email in the OP states "your existing agreement is with Lewis and not with our organization; therefore, we are unable to honor that agreement moving forward"
Why have you acquired clients if their agreement is with Lewis? Why not have Lewis wipe everything and transfer the assets to you?
Why have you stated in this thread that only a certain percentage of those clients were being terminated, if in fact all clients agreement's are with Lewis, and not yourself?
Why have you been terminating accounts specific to LET only, if all clients agreement's are with Lewis, and not yourself?
I have no legal background and very minimal knowledge to comment too in-depth about things, but instinct tells me you know just as little.
It seems to me, in my opinion, that you have acquired customer data without legal basis, are now trying to charge customers to keep their data within VeloxMedia's infrastructure or telling them you're going to delete it (within 5 days if the OP posted the email same-day - so you didn't even bother telling anybody anything for a good 3 or so weeks?), and you hide behind the fact that you've paid the ICO £52 and have set up an LLC so "everything's legit".
There are serious concerns about how you govern business, you have dug a hole so deep that there is just no way out.
You are welcome to answer my questions and have your final say, but it is inevitable where this is going.

I can't answer much of this as we have a NDA but we have no control over what Lewis sent over and all the agreements were with Lewis. We did not acquire the company or anything financial.
We have a full legal team who handled the agreement and has been involved since day 1 to ensure we're protected.
As we started to look into the data (we legally have access to) we determined this group was a massive risk to the company and were a loss. We're still under a network attack at one of our DC's which was a massive attack and we determined multiple sources were from LET site so have removed any links to that from our company. Instead of terminating their accounts without notice, we gave them the option to renew for a very low monthly fee or it'll terminate automatically.

The problem is the everyone seems to make assumptions there isn't a legal basis or things aren't legit for some reason. All without any facts or evidence. They just make up this because they want to make me a villain for whatever reason, when I have zero to do with anyones agreements

Sure. I think a lot of people aren't used to the nuances of corporate structures and just trying to help provide context and assist anyone. We're the source, no cap. Address us: We/Our/Ours.
Saying you have "no control over what Lewis sent over" makes absolutely no sense no matter what angle you look at it.
Are you on about communication? Because the email in the OP is clearly signed by you.
Are you on about data? Because yes you absolutely had control.. you could have said "I just want the assets, please tell the customers their service is over and deal with refunds/cancellations before handing over the assets with all data removed"
I do not believe a word of your big balls business talk personally.
Can you please treat me like a LLM that is stuck with 2023 data and explain in your view what defines "Eric" as a scammer?
Not a defence or a denial.. just looking for it to be put plainly.
As background, I have "lurked" here while being only slightly more active on LET since discovering them both around the same time. My posts hopefully reflect my decades as an advisor to the top ranks of the tech industry, as well as my interest in using my own VPSes.
Someone logging in as "VeloxMedia" along with a login I call "the Tom Harper Guy" ran heavy Black Friday promotions in late November and early December 2025 (aka last month) on LET.
He/they sold so many pre-paid (1 to 3 years) deals and created such excitement that they won an award from LET as a top Black Friday provider!
A few days after the sales petered out, and the money flowed in, a guy going by "Lewis Edwards" out of "Scotland" very publicly and openly (performatively?) sought help on Reddit for his money-losing VPS provider.
Suddenly "Lewis" announced he was getting out and someone else was taking over.
That someone stepped into the shoes (login) of the previous "different" guy, committed an anticipatory breach of everyone's Black Friday purchases (that's a black-letter law concept), disclaimed any responsibility for the obligations or money paid to the "Lewis" version of VeloxMedia for BF deals, then, after being alerted by some to European laws, formed two U.S. entities that he chose to name after the "original" VeloxMedia rather than a new, clean name not associated with the exit scam!
Obviously he most likely either 1) was involved in the exit scam from the start, helping now to harvest the monies and shield them from chargeback, or 2) knowingly (or negligently) acquired an exit scam (although he says it's an "asset" acquisition and not of the entire business) and is now working it to maximize its profits.
There are many, many other telling acts and admissions set forth in the LET thread(s) that corroborate this, which you are welcome to have an LLM sort through and try to summarize.
It's a lot of human work to sort through all the deliberate obfuscations, misdirections and intentional contradictions.
If you want to save a few hundred hours, ask yourself why someone would launch a "new" business in VPS provision because they supposedly have permanent "cost advantages" over all other VPS providers(!) by using a freshly discredited "brand name" that they themselves just admitted they never heard of before getting involved with it.
They are intentionally trying to stand in the shoes of a scam for a reason. What possibly could it be?
Most likely it is to harvest/maintain the existing payment accounts of Velox (by delaying customer chargebacks and showing the payment providers that new orders are still coming in, i.e., they are "legitimate") and possibly also to maintain the remaining term on upstream deals inked by the original Velox Media (the latter is beyond my area of concern).
The question is, if you conclude the "original" Velox Media was an exit scam or otherwise an exercise of bad faith to pull on the denizens of a "low end server" deal forum, why would anyone help and encourage an exit scam purchaser who has never to this day issued an apology for making it attractive for and thereby encouraging exit scammers to do what they do?
He's so brazen he hasn't even pretended he is offering "refugee" deals. But I guess he figures that even the most gullible wouldn't fall for Velox Media providing refugee deals for those scammed by Velox Media.

The fact that you made an agreement with him, to acquire said assets?
You say "But Mr Lewis, I don't want these customers or their data!"
It is clear to me that @Veloxmedia is complicit in the exit scam that happened, regardless of whether they're the exact same person as the previous owner or if they genuinely are a new person involved. They claim that they have no control over the fact they own client's data, and that they're a victim and it's all Lewis' fault, yet the email in the OP says "Give us money to keep your data!" and not "The previous owner fucked up, sent us data we didn't want, and unfortunately to protect your privacy we've had to delete it as this was not in our original agreement with the previous owner".
The fact that @Veloxmedia tried to milk these customers for more money shows their intentions, and no amount of legalese is going to change mine or anybody elses opinion at LES.
I have made the decision to ban the @Veloxmedia account from LES, and if they wish to appeal that ban, another mod will review it.
