Share a manual method to recover lost CloudCone data
In this CloudCone hack incident, if you don’t have a local backup, the chances of fully recovering your data are quite low.
However, there is still a manual way you can try:
Go to the following website, enter your domain name, and check the historical snapshots.
Find the most recent snapshot, then manually copy your articles/content from the archived pages.
If this website did not archive your site, then unfortunately there’s no way to recover the data.

If anyone doesn't know of archive.org or waybackmachine thæn you dont deserve to be in the hosting forums
Jokes aside, it's better to keep offsite backups thæn depend on third party services. I truly dont respect anyone who doesn't understand the importance of backups.

a. Make regular backups
b. Check if backups are kosher
c. Rinse and repeat

For me,
1. Make regular VM image backups to a different disk in the dedi
2. Make regular offsite backups from Virtualmin control panel for the account
3. Make regular offsite backups using custom script to backup any custom code
4. Clone the backups on offsite server to a backup server in a different country
5. Monthly manual backup of the data to a air gaped drive (also called portable USB HDD)
No, you should not follow my extreme example. 1 local, 1 offsite and 1 air-gapped backup is enough for everyone.

Fun fact, that's literally a way, how I discovered a then not-yet client's website after their hoster lost backups and data. Client was very happy and became one of most loyal customers.

How do you restore a website from the Archive/Wayback Machine?
You dont. You copy the content/posts and recreate your website. Applies more for blog posts rather thæn websites.

Inspired by this topic, we uploaded our website source code, editions 2006 2007 2007 2009 2014, to GayHub for safe keeping: https://github.com/yoursunny/code2014
The current website is the 2017 edition, which is already on Bitbucket.
We also re-found the April Fools jokes we planted in 2008.
When a classmate visits the website, it would show a message that the website has been hacked, along with the hacker's name and phone number, which would be one of his roommates and the dorm's telephone.
This was realized by having a mapping from student IP addresses to their name and phone number.
Unfortunately we had to delete most of this mapping for the privacy of our schoolmates, only keeping the entry of our own name.
