What do you think about hCaptcha?
I really appreciate that CloudFlare switched from reCaptcha to hCaptcha, because I have privacy concerns with every Google service.
What do you think about hCaptcha?
Many users say that it's too difficult to solve. Is it too difficult for you?
Do you have privacy and or legal concerns in using Google services like reCaptcha or Analytics?

I don't think I have ever seen it tbh.

Not difficult from what I've seen so far. Same as reCaptcha or easier.

I have none on hand .
But you can test it on their sign up page using my affiliate link https://hCaptcha.com/?r=b0d8fdc0d945 (aff).
Here is the article about it https://blog.cloudflare.com/moving-from-recaptcha-to-hcaptcha/
Edit:
And there are (currently) no hCaptcha OCRs.

That was ridiculously simple.

There is a shitstorm thread on the cloudflare forum where many saying it's to difficult .
Interesting:
hCaptcha has 100% of the features of reCAPTCHA V2 and is API-compatible with reCAPTCHA V2. Please see our implementation docs for more information.
hCaptcha also pays you for the work your users are doing. Using reCAPTCHA donates that work to Google.

People dumb enough not to be able to spot 3 umbrellas are the same people dumb enough to create a shit storm about simplifying a system to weed out bots.

a bit more difficult to solve and slower
Which is a good thing right?

I kind of don't like hCaptcha because I failed it a lot of times then only realised I am a robot.
食之无味 弃之可惜 - Too arduous to relish, too wasteful to discard.
Mr. Fatbot.
I was on a site with an hCaptcha challenge just yesterday. First time I saw it and it felt not very different to reCaptcha.
Last time I used hCaptcha (which was few months ago), it was freaking hard. Like hell. I was never able to pass through 'Bounding Box' challenge, although I've never seen those challenges with cloudflare's implementation of hCaptcha. And hCaptcha is still a bit buggy compared to reCaptcha.

I wouldn’t say more difficult but more time consuming and there majority of images need to be selected ive noticed. The one on their website does not seem to be a true reflection of what i’ve seen in use on the majority of websites that i’ve come across it.
It might get better over time but for now it is much more annoying and intrusive than Googles.

Somehow it's hard to solve when on mobile compared to reCaptcha
maybe I just got lucky.

It seems to prompt more iterations of tests than reCaptcha does.

Yeah.
You need to select multiple images on two pages.

Does it work better for javascript disabled browsers?
Is their implementation documentation better?
I haven't seen it in the wild yet, but just tried their implementation on their sign up page. Seemed pretty simple and straight forward based on that one test.

anyone looking for a demo can try http://techtablets.com/ -- it's a tab/laptop review website and I always get that captcha when visiting them.

I think a one page captcha would be best. hCaptcha prob has one page that is "verified" stuff and another page that probably is only used for their labeling services that doesn't really actually test. https://www.hcaptcha.com/labeling
hCaptcha is a mess. Difficult and hard to solve as we all are addicted to reCaptcha.

Last time i tried hCaptcha, their control panel went offline and payouts weren't given anymore for god knows how many days. The amount of people complaining on Telegram was absurd.
If I had privacy concerns, I would not use Cloudflare either.
Just imagine the amount of data they are able to collect if they want to.
Dear, you're so clueless!
Cloudflare switches to hCap because reCap (google) is tracking end users then what it this?
What on earth they are doing? Privacy badger is blocking hCap because of tracking!

I believe it's because of Google wanting to monetize reCAPTCHA
I don't blame Google for wanting to monetize their products, and it totally makes sense to change policies for them, but it's a shame because there aren't many (good) alternatives out there.
