Wow, amazing. A $30 charge to be able to pay in USD. Wondering if that’s another Oakley charge to generate a bit more cash for the bottom line as can’t see it costing €25 to create a new client account.
So this was the big announcement -- that they accept USD now?

Nah, recently (in 2019) Oakley Capital acquired a controlling stake of Contabo from its founders and now "develops" the company with their expertise about investing successfully in the hosting sector.
Apparently, this means that they're now trying to milk Contabo's customers to get back their investment asap.
I really like, by the way, how they're saying that Oakley "will help us in our ambitions to accelerate growth" - but if their CEO thinks so.
They have already accelerated growth. They’ve changed the pricing to add on VAT, when previously the prices included VAT. Therefore have an immediate increase in profits albeit for new customers and not existing as they stayed on the same terms.

I think that they mentioned before that the server management panel would be improved.
They announced that they'll accept USD from now on.
However, there will be a fee of €25 for existing customers to change to USD.
