Wishosting $11.99/month sale. Located in France (OVH) but feels very fast and responsive even when connecting from the USA thanks to the fast processor and disk.

seems like it's not actually limited to 250Mbps ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
GB5 score increased after upgrading from Debian 10 (4.19 kernel) to Debian 11 with backported 5.14 kernel (the standard 5.10 kernel it comes with was causing kernel panics on boot). Apparently Linux 5.11 had some performance improvements for AMD Ryzen/Epyc systems.

Thanks for mentioning this! I had a botched upgrade when going from Buster to Bullseye as well (with the same server). Didn't think about trying to upgrade the kernel until I saw your comment.

I had to install and boot into Debian 10, upgrade to Debian 11, and install the backported 5.14 kernel (from bullseye-backports) while still in Debian 10, before rebooting.

@cybertech,
last bench = are you discontinuing multiple VPS'es (or just clearing up shelf space for BF?)

1) discontinuing =>$7.5/GBram vpses that are either inconsistent in CPU/IO performance, do not have 2vCPU, or take too long to support
2) Discontinuing higher priced VPSes that do not have >9,000 GB4 firepower
3) Discontinuing VPSes that are redundant either by location or by provider
4) Clearing to make space for 5950X and storage deals
5) Saving some cash for something else
