What kind of deal can you make with 1IPv4 and 16 GB of RAM, cores and everything the same.

If it supports IPv6 and you buy @risharde's software, you could become a NAT host.

Why do I need software exactly?

No I think people are hurting financially and started BF way too early. Dreading all the Christmas crap from now until the end of the year already

A lot of early indicators (in other industries, I mean) that I pay attention to are showing it being a weak BF. We'll see if that is true and a bigger economic trend is forming, or if people just didn't rush out to Best Buy at 9PM after dinner this year for other reasons. I know with my own friends/family, nobody went out. Even if I hate it and never go, there were usually always stories of someone's ridiculous haul. The pinch has been very real for many.

I’m in Australia so might be getting a different experience to the US or other regions. That said, Black Friday feels like it’s been gaining traction in AU for maybe 3 or 4 years in a big way. Before then I’d get some online deals buying from the US but it never felt like it’d made its way to local retail, not to the extent it has now.

This year it’s really felt to me however that the Black Friday weekend has been extended into an all of November event, and then starting Tuesday we’ll be straight into Xmas sales that will flow into New Year sales only to wrap up in Jan some time. With no real data to back it all up, just an observation of what’s hitting my inbox from the few retailers I get maritime material from, it seems to me that the Black Friday events now diluted over a month where even a year (or maybe two) ago it was very much limited to the weekend.

Again, I’m in Australia so Black Fridays only more recently caught on, just as Halloween is also gaining in popularity here. Might be that what I’m observing here was the case already elsewhere, or maybe not? Certainly Amazon and some online businesses seemed to kick off earlier than I recall.

On a related note on adoption of US tradition, I fully expect we’ll start seeing thanks giving popping up here too. Never celebrated it myself, but heard just today that my wife’s friends arranged a thanks giving dinner last week.

I echo those thoughts...last year or two in IN as well.

Surprisingly, amazon and Flikpart (Walmart), as well as other online and offline stores in India were pushing heavily (still are) for Black Friday....my Father in Law's brother, an active 70 plus something, living in Western India, wsa asking me the other day what was the big deal about Black Friday...today I see the mall (literally) next door is overflowing with people on a rainy, windy day...

The lure of the Shiny new thing (I think they call it Shiny Object Syndrome?)

We had Dussera/ Deepawali sales season, which was lukewarm, and Christmas is not that big of a deal shopping-wise, so maybe marketeers are looking to create literally a sale event every month.

few retailers I get maritime material from

This one made me wonder "wow, is he in the wedding business ? " Then I realized : Maritime, not Matrimonial. Before @AlwaysSkint frowns, I will stop here.
    Cheers
